My wife and I few to Hawaii for our honeymoon nad I picked up a cold while over there........go figure. In any event, it was kind of a PIA to deal with, but I made the bes tof it. Fast forward, time to leave. I got on the jet and we took off, my head felt like it was going to explode. I thought this was bad until we were landing in LA. The only time I have felt pain like that was once at the ******* dentist. I seriously thought my eardrums had burst and I was biting down so hard I cracked a tooth. Planes and head colds can be a real bitch. :shake:

Any problem with the pressurazation system and you could of experienced some extreme pain...

Damn Pilots, they were probably at the bar trying to pay their bar tab before the flight...

As we were about to land, only 3 hours or so behind schedule, they gave us an excuse about there being delays the day before that screwed everything up. But, come on. All this happened the day before and they couldn't tell that this was going to happen?

Delays for good reasons like maintenance problems are understandable but this just seems like an orgy of stupidity.

if you don't feel like getting antibiotics, this has worked for me in the past:
the strongest sudafed for drying out and decongesting so the membranes can heal:

mix the GSE with water and try to gargle and get the GSE water into your sinus cavities. it will kill the germs.

that GSE is some good shit... if you ever go to mexico, take some

Ok, so my wife gets bad sinus infections. She has an old wives' remedy. She swears by it, but you gotta have some courage.

She gets betadine, puts it in a cup, traps it in a straw, leans her head back and drops it into her nose. She traps it and doesn't let it travel down her throat, leans left to right then drains it out of her nose. It burns, she says, but she repeats it several times.

Anyway, it's not as big of a deal (the treatment) as it might seem. If we have any sinus stuff, kids included, she has us do it. Well, there it is, enjoy it. If you want more info about it, PM me and I will ask her for more directions.

Colloidal Silver in nasal spray form will do the trick. You may need to take some probiotics after it clears up. Grapefruit seed extract in capsule form also works. Both of these kill Bacteria, Parasites and Viruses. As a side note i had this nasal thing last week, 2 squirts in both nostrils the 1st day then repeated the 2nd day and voila 95% better the 3rd day and gone the 4th.

OK. Do you want REAL medical advice? There are two types of sinus infections? Bacterial or viral. Viral= water and rest... bacterial= antibiotics and rest. BOTH need plenty of water but a viral infection clears in 1-3 days... and if it lasts longer... you need antibiotics.... if your GP prescribes amoxicillian tell him/her FARCK OFF and get AUGMENTIN... it is a MUCH broader more powerful form that will clear it within 2 days ... BUT you still need to keep up treatment for the full 10 days.

btw.. I come from a family of pharmacists.. this is actual advice... take it for what it is worth

I felt like ass all weekend, and the only thing that made the pain go away was standing in the shower with the water as hot as I could stand it blasting me right in the forehead. No getting comfortable, no getting sleep, just burning, painful pressure. It was bad enough that the over-the-counter stuff barely even put a dent in it. At least my wife's family was cool about it and didn't give me any grief about skipping all the festivities - I just hid in the hotel. I have a reasonably high pain threshold, but bad sinus infections just knock my dick in the dirt.

Then, on the way back, the flight was delayed because of shitty weather in Chicago. We sat on the tarmak for 3 1/2 hours before taking off, and there was a screaming brat two rows behind me. THEN the plane had to return to the gate to refuel. THEN the joy of the flight itself.

God, what a horrible weekend that was. :cuss:

Which is why I always try and keep a narcotic pill or two stashed away for rainy days like this one....when I had my stones they loaded me up with Oxycodone and Hydromorphone you bet you sweet nipple ring I put a few of those suckers away for "pain emergencies"

I suffer from chronic sinusitis, and sinus infections can come and go several times a year for me. If it is a viral infection, no medication will help it. It just has to run it's course. Bacterial on the other hand can last for months at a time if not treated properly, and can in rare cases spread to your brain pan. I'd suggest seeing your doctor as soon as you possibly could. Normally a 7 day, 1 a day, strong antiboitic along with a steriod and decongestant is prescribed.

Things you can do to relieve some of the pressure, sitting in a steamy shower several times a day for 15-20mins per. Gotta get those juices flowing and out of there. A rotating regimen of Tylenol and Ibuprofen to help mask the pain and headaches. Menthalatum under the nose will help relieve pressure and headaches.
