An extra 2nd rounder next year might not be all bad, even if it is pick #64. And you never know, it could be much higher. Things happen. For example, who would have ever thought the Cleveland pick that Dallas got would not have been in the top 5, maybe even top 2 or 3? Same thing in reverse could happen for the Vikings.
As far as doing all the picks this year. Minnesota does not want to do #17 (worth 950 points) and #47 (worth 430 points), which is a total of 1380 points. But they would go #17 and a 3rd... I'll use the higher pick here which could be the wrong one... at #73(worth 225 points) for a total of 1175 points. How about this, which is somewhere in the middle of those two things... We give them our 3rd at #66 which is worth 260 points, and they give us their 1st (950), 2nd (430), and lower 3rd which is #82 (180). That has a total point value of 1300, which is pretty well meeting in the middle. Gives us #5 #17 #35 #47 #82 |

I'd personally wait until draft day and see how the 1st 4 picks play out before I make any decision. Dorsey falling to us shines a whole new light on the possibility of matching an offer for Allen. The safety net is, if we don't match, we get 2 1st's.

Jeesh, I still think 2 #1's is better, but it wouldn't be much better. Someone needs to write 'Walker' on the back of a Vikings 69 Jersey....

I think he'll take the change of scenery and a chance to win now, even if it means backing off a bit from his Freeney-like contract demands. |

They don't even have to talk to the Chiefs is they are willing to do that. |
