You know Charles is going to make the team, and would make more sense to use him for kickoff returns, IMO - instead of a guy in Robinson that would never see the field as a WR take a roster spot just to return kicks.

I'd prefer to only carry 4 true specialists:

Barth
Colquitt
Darche
Sams

That gives someone like Price the opportunity to make the roster if they earn it, instead of being pushed out over a guy who's only job is to return kicks.

Robinson can do more than Sams, Robinson can actually play some WR... Sams can't play any other position. Also for whoever said keep Savage, why keep an extra RB when we can just keep an extra WR who can be a better returner... It makes a lot more sense to keep Robinson instead of Sams and/or Savage. Yeah I like Savage, but I like LJ Charles and Smith more... I would probably even keep Battle over Savage. One of those two if not both those RB's will probably be placed on the Practice Squad though.

Robinson CAN play WR, but he WON'T Play WR. He's just not going to be good enough.

And if his ass doesn't get off the training table and on the field soon, he won't be playing ANY position for this team.

There's no reason to hand a roster spot to a 6th rounder who has done nothing.

We are in total agreement.

Did he watch the Bears practice and compare the two? What if the Bears practice was twice as good as ours had been?

The problem is that I really dont think he knows much about football. I read his analysis of things and there is always something in there that is just so monumentally dumb that I wonder how the rest of the staff can tolerate him. And he is also a homer to the Nth degree, which doesnt help at all.

Goatse response in 3, 2, 1.....

Nah, I don't have to respond to every tard who rips on Warpaint. I'm confident in our product. Haters gotta hate...

Yeah but that Hoyte thing is laughable...

You have to admit it...

"it's like he's been playing that position all his life" when he actually has...

I knew someone would probably misinterpret that. The guy was a fullback last year, not a linebacker. Therefore it's an accurate statement.

I certainly didn't know Hoyte was once a linebacker...and I am 99% sure Athan didn't know either, or he wouldn't have written that given his past history...and I'm 99% sure you didn't know either or you wouldn't have let it go through so everyone here could pile up on your boy.

Whatever. I really don't care. Hoyte's been nothing but a fullback in the NFL until now.

Mecca 08-09-2008 05:01 PM

The implication of that statement was that he'd never been a LB before there's no way to spin that.

Wow, you guys will reach for anything to trash Nick. Sad.

We've known for months he played linebacker previously. Here's proof:

The Chiefs may have missed out on their top free agent targets, but filled a position of need late Friday night by claiming fullback Oliver Hoyte (6-3, 252) off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys.

Hoyte, who originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2006, was a middle linebacker in college at North Carolina State. The Dallas Cowboys converted him to fullback, where he played sparingly in 2006 and 2007 on offense, starting eight games. He also contributed on special teams.

Hoyte has his own website, at www.oliverhoyte.com

Mecca 08-09-2008 05:06 PM

Then how about in the article it says "Hoyte who returned to the position he played in college" or "original position" that would sound alot better than giving this implication that the guy just started playing LB.

Hootie 08-09-2008 05:06 PM

that's cool and all, I have nothing against Nick and I come to WPI's defense when it's warranted, but the way he worded that was just ridiculous...
