Which part?

Queensryche not the best band ever, or they're better than Tesla?

I ask because I am a fan of that era/genre of music and could never figure it out.

Well, because:

1.) they are pioneers in the progressive metal subgenre

2.) Operation: Mindcrime might be the greatest album ever released -- to this day I'm not sure which was the better album of the 1980's - Operation: Mindcrime or Thriller

3.) Empire was an excellent album, too. As was The Warning and Rage for Order.

Now, I don't think that they are one of the greatest bands of all time. But they are really, really good. They have one absolutely transcendent album, and the other older ones are good too. The combination of Geoff Tate on vocals (God, he's amazing) and Chris DeGarmo on guitar is legendary.

This is a good time to mention that ALL MUSICAL TASTE is completely subjective, and all of our opinions are both completely right and completely wrong.

It's just that some of us are too stupid to realize that.

Ah, man don't dog on Accept, that band rocks. They're like AC/DC meets Judas Priest.

Well, I'm not sure if the top billing is because Tesla is the overall best band, but they've probably got the edge in live show. I've seen both bands live, and even though I prefer Queensryche overall- Tesla was probably more entertaining. Tesla was amazing live, better live than in the studio IMO.

But the Queensryche I saw live was from last year. New band members, some cool Pink Floyd covers, etc. Certainly not the band in their prime. There was a time that Dio was singing along with them with some of the Operation Mindcrime Songs. I wasn't there, but I've seen the vids. If they were still doing that now, I'd give them the edge, but if they play the way I saw them last year- then, yeah it's Tesla.

Hush your mouth!!! "Old" Queensryche ****ing RULES! RULES I SAY!

Early Metallica I will give you but get Pantera the **** out of there.

chagrin 09-26-2008 11:12 AM

Brian Keith, if that's the singer's name? sounds like shit now, his voice is so gone...Geoff Tate on the other hand still has an excellent voice. I don't know man, they probably headline because they were more appealing to the masses.

thank you

I still have Queensryche listed as my 3rd favorite concert ever, when they headlined on the FIRST Mindcrime tour. Scott Rockenfield is unbelievable and they are truly gifted musicians.
