The beauty of it is that most KU fans I know will readily admit that MU deserved to be there over our Hawks. That just makes the victory even sweeter.

I love having an athletic director that knows how to do his job. If you're going to be pissed at anyone about the snub, you should be pissed at Alden. The dude doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.

Yay! Another KUnt who cheers backroom bullshit because his pussy team couldn't win on the field!

A friend of mine who graduated from Mizzou says she's going to have a watch party for OU/KU. For starters, it's the same week Mizzou plays Texas, so if both South teams win, any smack outside of a complete demoralizing of KU would be pointless.

Past that though, I don't really get it... Kansas fans knew the Jayhawks would take a step back this year, and everyone knew OU would get better. Mizzou couldn't beat OU last year, so had Mizzou taken a step back they wouldn't be able to beat them this year either, and who knows if they'll even beat them this year (if they meet).

Yeah, have fun watching Kansas lose or whatever, but it seems like some people think it proves something about last year. It doesn't. If Kansas gets their ass kicked by OU it'll mean that OU is much better in the trenches and that Kansas still has a way to go. Well, we already know that.

You were frauds then, you are frauds now. Perkins and his golden kneepads can't save you this year.

You are something else. Are you ever going to get over it?

I didn't bring it up. But if asked, I'll happily remind you clowns of the truth you all know.

We know what Whitlock's article will be about tomorrow. Ball State ranked.

Jealousy is a bitter pill to swallow.

I find it ironic how all these beaker fans are just dying for us to lose as if they have nothing else to root for. Basically, they are acting exactly the same that they accuse MU fans of during basketball season.

Pierce 10-05-2008 02:01 PM

MU is going to have to win with their offense all of the time, though. Their D needs some work.

KU was not going to be as good this year. I think most of us knew that.

Or how they bring up last year's Orange Bowl and then say that Mizzou fans can't get over it. It's as if they really think that a team in the midst of a National Championship chase (in the sport that actually matters) is worried about what bowl game Kansas played in last year. I don't know any Mizzou fans who are losing sleep over what an inferior team did last year.

That D looked pretty good last night. They had a bad night in the first game of the season. Since then, it's been pretty darn good. People said the same thing about our defense last year, but we led the Big 12 in scoring defense by the end of the year.

I never worried that much about who got the bowl game last year. Nationally everyone knew who the better team was and most fans only care about the BCS championship game and couldn't tell you who was in the Orange Bowl or Cotton Bowl the previous year.

How are the Jayhawks frauds at the moment? (I'm not conceding the 'frauds then', I'm just not arguing it)... look at the bottom of the Top 25 and tell me where they should be ranked. Even if you say 20-25, being 15 instead of 25 is hardly considered being a fraud... it's just guesswork by that point. Hell, Ball State is ranked in the AP basically by default.

Like I said, Kansas fans knew they would take a step back this year... no one was expecting to match last year's success, and everyone knew the schedule was brutal this year. Why it's a talking point now for "you're frauds", I have no idea.

At the same time, Mizzou hasn't had to do much to get up to the number two spot in the nation... I'd probably worry about them being frauds before worrying about Kansas.

At my count, there's one Kansas fan who said Mizzou is overrated, and one Mizzou fan who said they're going to enjoy watching OU beat Kansas.

I guess I could say the same thing, that "all these Tiger fans" are dying to watch the Jayhawks lose, when they should be more enthusiastic about watching their own team.

I don't care what Mizzou does... they're a fun team to watch, and it's good for the Big 12. I'd love to see the B12 North rival the SEC divisions, because it wasn't long ago when it an incredibly sad division. But, sitting at #2, chirping about how you're (the global you) going to enjoy watching Kansas lose, while Mizzou has its biggest games ahead of them isn't very smart.

Braincase 10-05-2008 03:11 PM

Missouri is earning their ranking every week. Until they lose, they deserve to be at the top. KU is a marginal top 25 team at best and they've got a long way to go, but they'll be a better team next year than they are this year. KU is an improving program, but we've got to settle for second place ni the Big 12 North, and with Colorado's program coming on pretty strong, that may not last long.
