You didn't answer the question:

In your delusions, what is the significance of this all going down today?

I pretty much already told you. But here it is again.

The Chiefs have been dancing with Shanahan for weeks. This didn't start today, despite what the national media thinks. But now Pioli is confident he'll be able to land him. Now that he has Herm's replacement in hand, Herm got the axe.

Pretty simple.

And unfortunately for you, when Larry is putting up big numbers and the Chiefs' offense is scoring points, he's a complete angel.

My GOD your Homerism knows no bounds! As a Chiefs fan I have to ask:

When DID you get such a hard-on for this guy? I mean, I get that way about DT sometimes, but he's a ****ing CHIEF!

Dude, Absinthe! Valium! Weed; choose SOMETHING.

So why not fire Herm two weeks ago then?

Your "logic" isn't terribly sound.

Because at that point, Pioli WASN'T confident he could land Shanahan.

Hell, Shanahan's toes were sunk in the sand in Cabo at that point, I believe.

So he didn't fire Herm then because he wasn't confident he was going to get Shanahan?

Please. Herm's 6-26 record was enough evidence. Pioli didn't need two weeks to evaluate anything. You're a fool if you think Herm had a prayer of staying here next season. There was never a chance. Never.

That's because Clayton's logic just consumed itself.

Look, it's plainly obvious Pioli was keeping Herm around until he had a head coach in hand.

I suppose I should backtrack from my statement. If Pioli completely ****ed up the situation and failed to land another head coach, yes, Herm would still be here. So there was a small chance.
