Freddy Funk just made the most hilarious putt.

And this "fairway relief" bullshit needs to stop.

It's casual water.

Barnes should shit in his hat any time now.

Fairplay 06-21-2009 11:49 AM

I thought it was going to be more bad weather today at the Open.

I realize it's casual water. But imo, it's ridiculous. Play it.

Did you see when Jacobsen walked that part of the fairway? He thought they'd have to take relief 50 yards away. It was a total swamp. The rules allow relief. Why be penalized by hitting a good shot into an unplayable area?

Yes I did see Jacobsen on the opening part of the broadcast. If it's too wet, then it should be postponed. Does the R and A allow that relief in the British Open?

WilliamTheIrish 06-21-2009 12:04 PM

Mickelson just hit a drive off the tee that spun back about a foot on the fairway.

Yes, casual water rules are very specific. The USGA and R&A rules are exactly the same. It's interpreted for specific conditions, but dropping a ball 15 feet from the original area gains no advantage.

WilliamTheIrish 06-21-2009 12:52 PM

Barnes is in the shite. Could be a game changer.

WilliamTheIrish 06-21-2009 12:52 PM

Great save by BaRNES.

Act your age there Skippy. Stop being so childish. "Rep" points is just a stupid game and nobody but you cares.

No guts, huh?

Is the rest of the tournament on TV? I don't see it listed on NBC or ESPN.
