Seymour, Warren and Wilfork were 3 of the Patriots first 4 first round picks under Belichick. The team didn't draft a linebacker any higher than the 5th round until Mayo. Pioli has been working with Belichick for a long time. Belichick believes in building from the lines first. It's quite possible that Pioli could have thought "Curry is going to be a 10 sacks-per-year guy in any system" and still have taken the lineman.

It seems like we've been having these same ****ing arguments for months now.

The people who think we should have drafted Curry seem to have reading comprehension problems.

Most of us that argued against drafting Curry said that we have no proof that Curry can rush the passer, but everyone of of the dumbasses that wanted to draft Curry keep saying that we said he can't rush.

He may well be able to rush the passer, but until he proves it on the field in games, there is no way in hell you can definitively say he can.

Bitter? Why would that be the case? We're glad we didn't pick a guy who isn't the best fit for a 3-4 system. You appear to be the bitter one by posting this article to all the mean Chiefs fans who didn't want to draft Curry.
No I think everyone has an understanding that if that kind of pick doesn't look good running around in shorts doing OTA's that it would be a HUGE problem.

This isn't as much as a "gotcha" thread as you would like it to be. This article gets written about everyone...so and so looks real strong out there doing this and that.
yep there are MANY articles about how good heyward-bey has looked:rolleyes:

No, because even if/when he proves that, it apparently won't matter because he'll be proving it out of a 3-4.

However, I'm sure we won't be hearing from any of the people who think we should have drafted Sanchez if he does well.

Aside from not knowing how to use the quote function do you really think picking the injured guy means you have a point?

Players looking great in shorts and injuries. You Curry folks are running on E.

i used the qoute function correctly, if you havent noticed that has been happening lately to others also. and he wasnt getting good press BEFORE he was injured. way too many drops and not too good at route running IIRC. and by the way i was NEVER in the curry camp.

I get what you're saying, and I understand.

I wanted to draft Sanchez as badly as anyone.

We didn't.

It's time to move on and focus on our team.

At the Seahawks’ OTAs and minicamps this offseason, the ’09 draft’s fourth overall selection has picked right up where he left off in Indy, displaying unexpectedly strong pass-rush skills that bode well for a defense that experienced a significant decline last season.

“At the last minicamp, it was the first time he stepped up as a down lineman in passing situations a la Julian Peterson, and he just blew everyone away,” a veteran source on the scene told PFW.

“He’s the only rookie who has been told flat-out that he was going to start from the get-go, and he never stops working. He’s always going 100 miles per hour. At Wake Forest, the focus was more on him dropping into coverage, and he just didn’t have to use his pass-rush skills as much. But they’re very evident.

“The coaches are really excited because, with Curry and Leroy Hill, who had 7˝ sacks as a rookie, they have two outside linebackers who can both blitz and drop into coverage, which should make the defense a lot more versatile.”

We hear Curry is also drawing rave reviews off the field.

“They’ve been very impressed with him in the meeting rooms,” the source said. “The coaches are really stressing the need for the players to see the entire picture, to get a better understanding of what the other guys will be doing, and he’s doing that well. He’s also extremely articulate, a great kid who is fun to talk to. You ask him a question, and he always comes back with intelligent, thoughtful answers that just seem to flow very naturally.

“He’s the total package. He’s big and fast, and he’s got really quick hips. You keep looking for the slightest flaw, but there just haven’t been any. The only thing might be that he doesn’t know the entire defense — yet.”

.
