And there is one more young stud pitcher we could have had outside Lincecum, but I'm blanking on his name. Second rounder, maybe?

porcello and the catcher for the baltimore would be nice, but whatever.

Demon with the knowledge. Grienke, Lincecum, Meche, and Porcello. Dammit, son.

Bump...just a little update on old Johnny.....not currently with a team, but still staying in shape waiting for a call. Hes 231 hits away from 3000.

I wanted to give you all a quick update as many of you have written emails asking what is next for me. I really appreciate the support and kind words. Even though spring training is coming to a close, I haven't given up on the idea of playing this season. I've been able to keep in shape and be ready if and when a call comes. I still believe I have a lot to offer a team and the game of baseball. In addition to getting ready for the season, I've been very busy solidifying relationships that will carry me into my business career when my playing days are over. Over the years, I've been very careful with endorsement and sponsorship opportunities by aligning with products that I believe in and use on a daily basis. I've taken the same approach in my business opportunities. Over the past 4 months, I've been working closely with Grain Audio, A Game and Muscle Aid Tape to learn about each and use the products. I have done extensive research, testing and getting to know the personnel at each company which has lead me to partner with each. I am very excited about each and wanted to share them with you on my site.

Thanks - JD

His best season was in 2000, his last season as a Royal.

Yup. Valuable lineup guy -- an ideal leadoff hitter with adequate speed, but can foul off a shitload of pitches. Great leader. Good not great in the field with a bad arm.

Not a hall of famer, but a great guy to have on your team.

Not even close to a hall of famer. But definitely above average player who posted a long career. Always like him when he was a Royals. Became a giant douche when he signed with the Yankees.

Nobody with only 2 all star appearances will ever seriously sniff teh HOF.

He's in the Hall of Really Good for a Really Long Time. That's it.

Spend some money, Glass.

This..............

Damon is the kind of player that should be famous for his postseason heroics, but not a hall of famer, he should be a guy that people mistake for being in the hall of fame...if that makes sense.

Bump 04-01-2013 09:36 PM

They should have a Hall of the Very Good. It's not the Hall of Fame. But some players can't make the HoF, but they should be remembered still.
