Not a bad backup player if we need it...doesnt hurt things

DeJesus would get a job on every single team in MLB. Not necessarily a starting gig, but even the Yankees have a use for David DeJesus.
By definition, he is a MLB talent. That said, he's an awful fit in KC. He's an okay leadoff option but a very poor run producer playing at a corner OF position. Now if KC had a CFer, C, 2b or SS that could produce runs, using a corner OF position on a mediocre bat wouldn't be a big deal. However, DeJesus at LF while playing Betancourt, Crisp, Callaspo at SS,CF and 2b means you cannot burn LF on another mediocre bat. Here, I'll just re-post what I said last year when the Royals were rumored to have traded Teahen. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...9&postcount=64 http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...1&postcount=67 DeJesus has been devalued a lot by this regime. Though the Teahen trade was a good one, IMO. You upgraded your speed/Defense with Getz and Fields has light-tower power. He's Jacobs with an actual ceiling and chance to improve. |
DDJ is the wade boggs of LF...trade him for the best value...i think he could help a contender get somewhere more so than the royals
