I also think its a waste of time. We have six games left this season. Stick with the backs we have and find someone else in the offseason. I realize someone could go down, If so, find someone else. Not this guy.

If anything we should be pulling players off of other team's practice squads. They get 6 games to see if they can help out this team....if not....no big deal.

I agree. Though in this case Perry's not very old himself.

No, he's not, but physically he's a shell of what his body was coming out of college.

The difference is that several years ago, Perry was a first round pick.

The guy was very effective a few years ago. He was averaging 5 yards per carry for 2 seasons, even if not at a full carry load. Most of you are judging him based on one poor season coming back from major knee surgery.

I don't understand the reluctance. What is there seriously to lose?
(crickets)
If he sucks, as he did in 2008, then you can him. If he plays well, then you keep him and suddenly you can cross RB off your priority list.

I don't understand the absolute reluctance to bring in a guy who is a zero-risk addition. There is no downside to signing him. Zero. Nothing but upside.

Work out doesn't mean sign, I personally don't see anything wrong with turning every stone. Its better than not working out anyone.

It's not like the Chiefs have the upperhand on all of the other teams. Read this..

I think it's safer to say that he was brought in because he knows Haley. I don't think it comes even close to meaning he was the most qualified guy on the market.

I really liked him coming out of Mich, but the years havent been kind to him.

Im going with the popular opinion in this one, We need another back, but NOT this one.

This falls pretty low on my list of things to get worked-up over. Wasn't signed (yet), and a 'workout' could just mean Ray Farmer looking at him. Whole story might be nothing more than his agent shooting it out there to try and garner looks from other teams. Hell, even if he was signed, I don't think I could get myself to care enough to give it more than an "eh, whatever."

I'd like to see them give Perry a shot if he's healthy. He never really got much of a chance in Cincy. He did well in a part time role before this last injury, IIRC.

I don't see the big deal here. Give it a shot. It's not like the Chiefs have any other options right now. Charles is great as a primary back. You'd only need a guy like Perry to be more of a short yardage, 5-carry a game back. Much as I like Charles, he's not a guy I want in there in crucial 3rd and 1 situations. And it's always nice to have a bulldozer to complement the quick guy. Thunder and lightning.

Nothing to lose here. And who knows, by a complete long shot, he could realize his potential in a new environment, as Benson did in Cincy. Remember that Benson only averaged 3.4 YPC before he was cut in Chicago.

Well last I seen he was pretty good on 4th and 1 and last week he got 1st downs consistantly.....as long as the line holds the line of scimmage charles has been doing his part
