Are you saying BB King simply runs blues scales all night long in I IV V style and that Morello could play the blues as well as King?

Morello was nice as a one-song stand-in but IMO Jeff Beck he never will be.

Well BB King is black so he gets an edge in soul, plus he get some sound by those sausage like fingers, I doubt morello's hands can dupelicate the sound and soul of bb king, but he could play the scales, he would have trouble breaking off some I'M CUMMING faces, that bluesmen brake off. Blues riffs can be played easily, that's what they are known for, bt it's the amount of alcohol, drugs, pussy, pussy lost, pussy gained, dead pussy, smack, coke, crown and whiskey, huffing gasoline, dirty police officers, dirty towns, clean towns, small towns, towns on lcd, Mountain dew and rum, Mad dog 20/20, choking on blood, slapping mama's, killing daddy's, is what is real in putting in the emotion on a blues note.

That Morelo solo didn't make musical sense until 3:40 (if you stopped watching, vailpass, the solo was from 1:55 where he starts making turntable noises until the end of the video. The solo is like 2 1/2 minutes long).

You're really calling Rainman out with this post, aren't you?

Personally, I liked The Boss up there. IIRC, he covered 6 other artists music, plus Patti Smiths version of 'Because The Night' (which he wrote). To me, he showed a lot of enthusiasm and energy for a 60 year old.

In the past, I've seen him cover everything from The Beatles to the Wallflowers. To me, it just shows his love of music.

Black Eyed Peas just ruined the living hell out of this list.

I didn't understand why they were there either, but I did like looking at Fergie and thought she did a pretty good job with Mick Jagger.

Fergie was surprisingly good, did the other "band" members do anything?

Part of it sounded like Vinny Vincent-meets out of key. The Gilmour-ish parts were cool though.

Well, yes, I understand that he isn't a traditional guitar player, but he is an innovator. I was a huge Rage fan, and so I love his style. I think it is possible for the greats to have their own place without having to be compared.

To compare BB, Jimi, Morello, Kirk Hammett, and Clapton is just something you don't do. They each have their own sound. That doesn't make them necessarily worse than one another, just different.

I wanted to point out this particular solo, because even for Morello it was awesome.

It'll be out next year. All kinds of guest singers, from Fergie to Chris Cornell and others.
