Mmmmm rectangle pizza...

I used to think school lunch was good... but about my Junior year I want to say the quality just went to complete shit and everything was disgusting. Luckily I didn't have to eat there anymore then anyways.

You're a high school student?

Does CP have a ratings system, like the movies? Did you have to use fake ID to get in?

Sweet Dick brought greens from the family farm to school for lunch. But if the crops wasn't good that year, Sweet Dick would play his cigar-box guitar for the white folks on the corner until he earned enough scratch to buy a bologna sandwich at the corner store.

Hell no. I'm being very, very serious. Our government subsidizes the growth of cheap corn that goes to feed cattle and become processed foods of all kinds, especially in its damaging form of high fructose corn syrup. Americans are becoming ever more obese and diabetic because of our industrial, processed, corn-filled food system.

There is no such thing as cheap corn, especially when it comes to feeding beef cattle. It is impossible to blame any agriculture industry for obesity, or diabetes; Farmers or cattle producers can't control how much the American public eats, or how little the American public exercises. High Fructose Corn Syrup is also nutritionally the same as sugar, and your body metabolizes it the same as sugar.

No. You're really, really wrong.

Everything but the sentence about farmers having no control over people's appetites or exercise habits.

You must have never had the opportunity to feed cattle any corn. Try $4 corn and $.82 fat cattle, tell me that corn is cheap. And you can't argue with science, corn syrup and sugar are metabolized the exact same.

The abominable crap they served when I was a kid, that was not even fit for a dog. In fact, those tiny little burnt black "sausages" they served on macaroni day, my dog would not eat those! I took them home to see if he would, and he just sniffed them and backed away. So, if the kids are getting pet food now, they ought to be grateful! It's a step up from what I got.

Sugar is a large category. Who know what kind of sugar you're talking about.

****a, I gots a lunch-card.

Bugeater 01-01-2010 09:45 PM

I ate lunch with my son a few times when he was in elementary school, and while it wasn't exactly a gourmet meal I didn't find it to be all that bad. Nevertheless, if you don't feel that school lunches are adequate for your child you always have the option of sending a lunch to school with him/her.

I just can't seem to follow your line of thinking. Corn syrup has the same affect as sugar, both can be linked to type 2 diabetes.
