I split time between our only three places to buy groceries. A locally owned grocery (AKA Ron's), Dillons (AKA Kroger), and as much as I hate to say it...... Walmart (AKA Hell).

There's pretty much only Publix and Wholefoods where I live. I'm not driving out of my way to shop at other places.

Hy-Vee. Good meat and seafood counter.

Price Chopper, mostly because it's close. I also shop HyVee, Hen House, and Aldi.

Hell if I know. The only Walmart I frequent is in Kirksville (new, huge and very nice, BTW).

It's packed with rednecks, but they all speak English. :D

Is it the same one that was built in the mid-90's on the north end of town, or have they built another one?

Yeah, that's the one.

You have to realize, in my mind, anything they've built since I moved away in 1984 is "new."

How does this list NOT include Hy-Vee?

Ron's used to have the best meat counter in P-Town. Dillons was ok, but I can't imagine anyone getting meat at Wal-Mart.

Ah hell, I wouldn't have come up with near as many as you did. I lead a pretty sheltered life down here in the boonies.

Yea, I don't buy meat at Wal-Mart. Ron's is the by far best place for that.

 I haven't been back to Kirksville since I lived there (after graduating) in the early to mid-90's, so I wasn't sure how much had changed.

Not much choice in a town under 1000 people. I go to the locally owned store. It's a little more expensive, but all the meat, poultry, eggs, etc... come from people I know and trust.
