Charles will have a great year and then he'll get his salary redone.

Jamaal Charles has worked his tail off and has done a lot to help this football team (especially last year when he was the only offensive player who should have gone to the Pro Bowl.) Charles helped lift the team up this season for the first regular season touchdown by a Chief from 56 yards.

He is still sitting with a crappy contract, and Studebaker gets an extension? This isn't to bash Studebaker. Good for him.. Do the Chiefs not want to keep Charles?

He will be a FA after this season. Denver has signed Dumervil, Kuper, and Orton to contract extensions already and are working on extending Champ right now.

Um, no.

Under the current CBA, the Chiefs will have his rights until 2014.

The current CBA will be gone by the time the next NFL season is played and no way will the players union agree to wait 6 years to become UFA's.

First off, you were incorrect in your original statement.

Secondly, before the uncapped year, players were restricted free agents after four years and fully free agents after five. That will NOT change, especially since teams around the league are beginning to decertify, which means there will be NO lockout and NO changes to the current system until both sides agree to a new CBA.

The last time this occurred, it took more than 4 years for the league and the union to ratify a new CBA.

So your points have absolutely NO merit.
