fastest on the street was on 71hwy between Belton and Peculiar, and I was riding with a LEO who was on his bike; got to about 145.
the 160 was at HPT. ( say "160", but it's sort of a guess; last time I looked down it was cresting going pretty hard through 145-ish)
never really cared for top speed (especially on the street); but would run the alphabet twisties at 'slightly' more than what was posted; or as I call it - a "spirited" pace.

^that. not to mention there has been several times I'd come out of a 45MPH corner and be in the meat of the power band, open it up; wheel comes up and you get sort of tunnel vison from the blood moving back.

Never felt the urge to go that fast again since.

Me either. Sold mine 4 weeks ago. If I get another supersport, it'll be for track days. Would like to get a DRZ-400sm for around town though

Modern sport bikes make ludicrous speeds ridiculously easy.
Pick any modern liter bike, 1000cc and bigger, it’ll hit 100 MPH in first gear and you’ve still got 5 to go.
|
yep; you're up to 70MPH/80MPH in 1st gear...in about 3 seconds.
