What makes it sucks out west of Hays is that I-70 breaks off a NW direction before going west again. I hate that section of the interstate.

I've got mixed feelings on this. I'm thinking it will do more harm than good. They're essentially increasing the variance of speed of the vehicles on the highway. And I really question whether that's a good idea. Semis and crappy cars aren't going to be cruising along at 75-80 with the rest of the cars. This is going to cause the impatient assholes to drive even worse than they do now. Having some people going 80+, and others going 55-60, makes it that much harder for idiot drivers to determine how quickly they're approaching another vehicle. It will probably raise fatality rates, which will in turn cause our stupid government to try and implement more driving regulations.

I feel old.

The speed limit's been 75 on the interstate highways in the Dakotas, Montana, and parts of Nebraska for years.

I only wish the rest of the fly-over states would get with the program (Iowa, I'm looking at you)

Ohio is still 65.

I think some portions of Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho had no speed limits in the late 60s
early 70s. Someone correct me if Im wrong.

This should have been done a long time ago, I drove to Co. Last summer via 1-70. There's NOTHING for five-six HOURS after Topeka. You get to Co. and see 75 mph and you're like "Gee, I wish my state wasn't run by idiots."

Actually, truth be told, 75 is too slow too. Kansas could garner some popularity and be the first state in the country to have the AutoBaun. If Germany can have one, where, get this, there's actually people and buildings, why the hell not Kansas?

I will have to do it again if I want to go back to Cedar Point.

I've done the Ohio to Missouri several times. Illinois is excruciating.

That is true. I know in the fall would be good, seeing all those trees leaves changing from green to orange/red.

Good luck, wasn't I-35 (among others, I'm sure) 60mph only 10-15 years ago? I know it's all 70 now, but when I was in college I seem to remember cussing at going from the 70mph in MO to 60.

It's still only 65 in Iowa. And 55 on all other highways.
