If things don't turn around then Cassel is gone and Haley hires a real OC to run the offense.

I hope they both turn into Hall of famers, but i haven't seen anything from either to suggest it.

Dude, Haley is not a bad OC. A good QB cures all.

Did you miss the fact that Haley was the Cards OC when they went to the SB?

Yeah, an injury would almost ensure his return next season.

Hopefully, opposing defenses can continue to expose him for the fraud he is.

The problem to me is this.

We have games this season against some of the best pass rushing teams in the league, starting this week against the Lions.

This O-Line isn't as bad as some try to paint it, but neither is it good, and they will feel like Andy DuFreyne(sp) after each encounter with the prisoners that abused him.

When the season comes to an end, the excuses for Cassel's poor performances will be readily available, and virtually inarguable.

This is not going to end well.

:shake:

He may not be ready, but wouldn't you rather see rookie mistakes from an actual rookie?

I've said it plenty of times before....but if Cassel fails....they'll ultimately blame it on the pass protection and that will be their excuse to draft an OT in the 1st round.

I'd love to read Pioli's thoughts on Cassel. He saw, first hand, Tom Brady lead them to 3 SB wins. He's got to know by now Matt is not cutting it.

Did you miss the face that Haley inherited that offense?

Whisenhunt set the offense up and Haley didn't start calling plays until midseason. Even then he had a QB they had already won a super bowl and had the league's best WR. How difficult do you think calling plays in that situation was?

As a Chief ...

1st year - Haley was HC and OC. Offense was a disaster, play calling was conservative and ugly as hell.

2nd year - Weis took over OC. Cassel was productive and the offense led the league in rushing. Cassel was 8th in the league for QB(going by memory)

3rd year - Haley/Muir/Zorn as OC . Entire team was ass but the offense looks remarkably like it did Haley's 1st year.

Now the 3rd year is still waaaaaaaaaaaay too early to make conclusions about. Imo this is Haley's final year as OC if the offense stays a mess. We need an offense coordinator that doesn't need Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald to run a competent offense.

Haley can stay as HC and go around yelling at people and be the bad guy around camp while our OC and Crennel actually install the schemes.

But he's a pro-bowler!

Our QB through all this has been Matt ****ing Cassel. Haley likes to operate an aggressive O. It's dumbed down for Matt. Haley's skills as a HC may be questionable, but I think he's fine as an OC. A QB would solve everything.
