Yeah I think driving through or into a state should count as "being there".

Living here in upstate NY I've gone way north I've gone way south but not very far west.

Someday I Will go to Arrowhead thats what will push me west one day.

A buddy of mine is a driver who goes past arrowhead a couple times a yr he says by car it takes approx 23 hours driving time.

The wife will of course fly for vacation but I dont see her saying sure lets fly to go see the Chiefs vs the Cardinals ..etc.
But someday I'm going to ride with my friend and finally get there.

Only 17 of them. Feels like I've been to a lot more than that,

Why have twice as many people been to Delaware as Connecticut and Rhode Island and those other smaller eastern states? How does a person even end up in Delaware? As far as state locations go, it's a dead-end street.

Gonzo 12-05-2011 09:29 PM

Been to almost every state in the continental 48, (except the extreme NE and NW). Lived in the following:
Cali (twice)
Indiana
Kansas
Nebraska (three times)
Illinois
Michigan
Georgia (for a very short time)

This is why Nebraska is building that border fence.

I was driving up the coast from Virginia Beach. North through Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware, then west to pickup US-50, across the bay, through Annapolis, on past DC to my then home in Leesburg, VA. Much more scenic than I-64/I-95 through Virginia.

Also north on I-95 from DC area to NJ/NY goes right through Delaware, did it several times. I-95 is the major north/south highway. If you go from NY to Florida you can't help but pass through it.
