He's gonna be a 1st rounder, likely a top 5-10 pick. It would be foolish for him not to come out now, as the money isn't huge, but he'll hit his second contract earlier, but if he wants to stay, I guess that's his choice, and we'll roll with another year of retreads.

You are only young once. Enjoy college.

Sounds about right. Orton is the starter and Cassel and Stanzi fight it for the #2 position. We draft the finsihing touches for our D a RB and some O line.

On second thought if we are keeping those three QBs then as soon as the season is over they should be put on notice that it's a three way competition for the starters position. That would open the doot for Stanzi and the future. If he is the future that is.

This.

The man plays a contact sport where you can be done at any second.

You can still be young & have fun and get paid in the pros. See Mark Sanchez. ;)

For all those claiming "what if he gets injured" he'll have a mulit million dollar insurance policy.

From 2006:

"If Reggie Bush suffers a career-ending injury in the Rose Bowl, he'll lose out on the millions of dollars that would have greeted him in the professional ranks.

Don't worry, though. He's covered.

Bush, this year's Heisman Trophy winner and projected No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, holds insurance policies that cover him for up to $6 million. So he has financial protection against an injury, not only in the Rose Bowl, but also on a 24-hour basis until he signs a professional contract or Aug. 1, whichever comes first.

Some of his teammates at Southern Cal also are heavily insured. Quarterback Matt Leinart came back for his senior season in possession of an insurance policy for untold millions, while running back LenDale White ($2 million policy) and wide receiver Steve Smith ($1 million) both played this year with insurance protection in place. "

Barkley has told teammates he’s returning. Look for good news for USC fans at 4.

I guess it's smart.

If it was me, I'd just take the check rather than have to pay for insurance but I guess that's his call.

Its hard to pass up the money, but if I were Barkley? No way in hell I'd leave. Who would pass up the opportunity to be the BMOC at USC for one whole year? I'm certain there are quite a few perks to that. Helps make the missed out millions a little easier.

Being an NFL team's starting QB wouldn't be just the same?

Plus he'll make almost double the money in the pros that he makes in college.
