Nothing but a fluff article with a bunch of what else where they supposed to say.

I think at this point The Star is writing articles just to see the meltdown here.

Cassel sucks, we know it, Teicher knows it, and Crennel likely knows it, hell Cassel probably knows it.

The issue is Pioli apparently doesn't know it.

Cassel is a good guy and very likeable. I don't ever question his heart or effort....just his talent

Sorry for your struggles.

I just figured you wanted to give the self proclaimed great editor something to do.

Apparently he doesn't like text just video.

Aside from the obligatory Cassel bashing, does anyone else get rubbed the wrong way by these comments? Cassel is such a wimp, he wants to "compete" for the starting job? I never want to hear that shit from my starting QB. He should have said "I want the job. This is my team." And of course all of us would have laughed at him, because that's what we do, but you WANT a quarterback with some confidence, not this "I just want to help the team, I'll do whatever they ask me" crap.

Maybe those three screws they put in his hand will make him a better quarterback. He is now the 6 million dollar man.

And sadly, his lack of talent makes him less likeable. I agree though... in interviews he does seem like a nice guy with an exception of his smug, lack of self-awareness, "I think I graded out perfectly" types of comments.

Will that mean he'll be able to move coverages and make his progressions?

whoman69 01-11-2012 06:42 PM

I totally agree Check Down was never entitled to be the starter.

Cassel said through it all, he never believed he was entitled to be the starter. He also indicated he would be willing to compete for the job if that’s what the Chiefs ask him to do.
Isn't that a little contradictory?

Probably not. However he might throw a pass over 20 yards now.

I will never hate Matt Cassel. He is just trying his best (which isn't worth shit).

I hate Pioli for thinking he is an NFL QB.

Doesn't change the fact that you suck, and failed.

No shit. Someone take away Mr. Tomahawk's thread starting privileges.

Epic Fail 007 01-11-2012 06:50 PM

Cassel go back and ride the bench in NE

I'm not totally convinced yet that the checkdowns en masse were all him. I have a feeling it was a lot to do with Haley as well. I say that only because there were games were we spent the entire first half checking down and in the 2nd half when presumably the coaches had no choice but to open it up he didn't do too bad. He didn't do great but he wasn't terrible either.

We will see come next season. NE wasn't exactly a "check down" offense and he executed in that. He can say that much..yes the talent around him there was better but he still won them 11 games. I'll be curious to see how things have changed offensively with Haley and Muir out of the picture and hopefuly more talen on the o line

I don't know how this didn't portray any confidence in your eyes. He stated that he's never had to compete. He would be willing to compete. If I wasn't sure of myself than why would I risk losing something in a competition.
