Every year is Cassel's make or break year. Each year is the year for him to prove himself. Each year he doesn't, and the fanbase waits for next year to declare this is his make or break year.

This year the whole world gets to see what happens when your team is loaded and your QB sucks.

Let's be honest, when he had an offensive coordinator (Weis and McDaniels) that had one vision, he looked competent. When he hasn't, he's looked completely lost. Last year was an abortion on offense from a coaching standpoint. Let's appoint a OC that's never called plays and have him relay them down to the QC coach to relay them in to Cassel, but before that happens, let's have Haley approve or veto the call. It was never going to work regardless of who the QB was...

It's put up or shut up for Cassel.

Yea pretty much. Im pretty sure he knows he needs to bounce back and have a good year. Fear can be a big motivator. I dont think he will ever be spectacular, but he can be decent at times, we have all seen it.

No excuses this year.

this is probably a little overly optimistic. Hillis perhaps, but Charles has never had more than 7 rushing TDs in a season. Hillis will steal alot of carries away from Charles, which is fine with me. Keep Charles fresh for the breakout runs.

LMAO.

It's amazing, someone was saying "Cassel got hit, maybe that's why his pass sucked."

I was looking at the Denver game, and they broke in with a Dalton TD pass. Dude gets nailed, throws off his back foot, and throws a perfect lob to the back corner of the end zone.

Good thing we don't draft QBs though.

Was Cassel hit before or after he threw the ball?

Competent enough to:

His completion percentage sucked.
He couldn't throw down the field.
He couldn't beat good teams.
He struggled mightily when he wasn't supported by a strong running game.
That's not what I call competent.

The one game i remember where he beat a good team and i thought he had turned a corner was the Seattle game that year.

depends on your defination of good team though, but they did win a playoff game that year.

Competent enough to have a 90 QB rating in both of those years and contribute to a winning record. The guy is and never will be among the NFL's elite. But, like it or not we are stuck with him this year at least. I would prefer to see him have an 08' 10' type of year and let the chips fall where they may in the offseason.

Well for starters, Bowe isn't a holdout.

Then there's the fact that I couldn't care less what Cassel is capable of WITHOUT the threat of a real pass rush. His poise (or lack thereof) is like 90% of why he sucks.

I've been going back and watching all the footage of games I have over the last two seasons and this couldn't be more true. In all the games I've watched in which Cassel looks comfortable in the pocket he looks way above average and the games that he fears the pass rush he looks nothing short of like a scared bitch who rushes plays, uses shitty mechanics, and pisses down his leg. If the presence of Winston boosts his testicular fortitude he very well could be in for a big season. It's all about his state of mind. I'm not going to blame the line for this, because there's no excuse for losing you're composure like that, but if he does in fact find his comfort zone with the upgraded line..who knows.

Hammock Parties 08-04-2012 12:32 PM

Competent throw. Would you like to see one just like it, from 2010? LMAO

Same dogshit QB every year, being propped up by others, fooling the fans.

7-9 team?

NFC West team?

27th ranked defense?

27th ranked passing defense?

Bowe wide the **** open on all three of his TD passes?

Cassel got you covered, son.

If you liked that shit, I can show you a game against the Indianapolis Colts from last season. Oh man, Cassel was straight up Joe Montana that day.

O.city 08-04-2012 12:37 PM

No one has really talked about who has been shitty at camp.

I thought Powe was pretty awful yesterday.
