The cop was sort of escalating by moving his foot, but if you're driving a car and someone is standing that close it's on you to not hit them. He couldn't see the cop's foot. I don't even think you can make a right on red in Manhattan because there's so many pedestrians, I don't know why you'd think you could drive with a person basically touching your car.

He then gets noticeably more aggressive toward the driver and car, to the point that he hit the shit out of the side of the car. I think that was an honest reaction to getting his foot run over.

Again, not defending the little prick's actions, but if the cop actually had his foot run over, his foot would have been on the back side of the tire when he pulled it out of the way. His foot is clearly still on the front side of the tire and the cop never struggles to get his foot out from under the tire. He was just angry at the arrogance of the kid.

I thought the car went backwards a little after it went forward. But whatever. I think the cop was sort of making a point- you want to be a dick, then we'll see what happens. Now you're getting cuffed.

This. I thought the guy pulled forward, fan over the cops' foot, cop panics and starts screaming, guy realizes he's ****ed up and backs his car back up, freeing cop's foot and allowing him to yank his ass from the car and put the smackdown on him.

Remember the genius who tried to run over an NYPD officer that was writing ticket for said genius' illegally parked Ferrari? Said genius is being sued by said cop for $10 million.

The 458 Spider owner has a name; Julien Chabbot. According to the New York Post, the 28-year-old Internet entrepreneur is being sued by officer Felix Recio, who claims Chabbot intentionally tried to run him over when he was attempting to write a ticket. Recio has reportedly retained lawyer Sal Strazzullo, who has motioned to increase the criminal charges from felony assault to first-degree assault with a deadly weapon. "Chabbott clearly had no regard for Officer Recio's life," said Strazzullo, "hitting him with his Ferrari could have caused serious injured or even death.

According to the report, the August 4 SoHo incident left the 34-year-old officer with "a swollen foot and bruising." Recio continued, "I believe he deliberately drove towards me with an intent to hurt me." Recio is suing for personal injury and says he has not been able to work since the incident.

Meanwhile, Chabbott's attorney, Ben Brafman, denies the upped charges, stating: "We are not aware of any civil lawsuit... I would be shocked if a $10 million lawsuit is in fact being contemplated given the fact that we have developed information to the effect that the officer in question appears to have suffered no injury whatsoever."

We'll see how this sordid legal affair plays out. In the meantime, click below to watch the caught-on-video incident.

Why would they shoot him? Guy wasn't a poor, mentally challenged, knife wielding minority. :bolt:

Seriously, nice gf, better car.

ClevelandBronco 08-22-2012 07:36 PM

Too bad we're not discussing why the cop shot that limp dick.

Rain Man 08-22-2012 07:57 PM

I agree with LoneWolf on this. The guy was an idiot and deserved to get a trip downtown and a fine. However, the cop overreacted. This shouldn't be a felony charge, and the fact that the cop is off work and suing the guy makes me suspect that the cop is kind of a deadbeat. The guy truly was an idiot to not take his ticket, though.

I've had my foot run over in a similar situation, and while you panic a little when it gets trapped, I just chuckled once the wheel was back off. Tires are soft. Other than a few seconds of fear it never even really hurt.
