The first thing that popped into my head when I read this was the Meet the Parents scene where the dad tells his daughter "that cat has been like a brother to you!"

He had a game against the Rams in the preseason last year that he did show something, but that's all he's done.

What he did in college is irrelevant, so in the end, one quater last year, and one quarter this year do kind of erase each other out.
