I remember that. It was in lot L and we watched it unfold from our upper level seats.

Thanks. I wondered why peteZ28 has been winning the needless thread battle lately. Now I know it's because Frankie conceded.

Pretty sure he was banned. Not sure if it was permanent though.

He needed to move on. He was ill-suited for this type of board. For his own sake, I hope he doesn't return.

That's true. Don't think it's permanent but I wasn't involved so I don't even remember the exact circumstances. Something about harassment via PM, rep, and visitor messages with one of his other stalkers. Neither could let it go over the course of months and eventually, after half a dozen warnings they both got the hook.

And Cassel is still starting.

I blame it all on Obama.

Giants: What it's like to play in Philly at the Linc

Quote:

The New York Giants will be standing defiantly inside a belligerent arena, inside the eye of a raging storm of invective and venom, ready to defend the franchise’s honor with every last ounce of courage and willpower against an enemy that will be trying to take their heads off, come hell or Goodell.

“I love loud stadiums, I love fans; they act like they want to come on the field and rip your head off,” Justin Tuck said.
Quote:

It honestly feels good, it really does, to know that everybody — I’m talking about every single person in that stadium — is against you,” Osi Umenyiora said, “and the only people you got are your teammates, man. It’s an awesome feeling.”

The hostility becomes evident as the Giants bus rolls toward the Linc.

Quote:

It is commonplace for the Big Blue bus to be pelted with eggs as it departs.

“We understand that if we got caught somewhere [chuckle] in Philadelphia wearing our uniform out on the street somewhere, we might not make it home, stuff like that,” Tuck said.
Quote:

The Giants bench isn’t necessarily a safe place.

“Some fans have thrown batteries,” Boley said.

Umenyiora: “It’s intense.”

Is it the most intense atmosphere on the road?

“Me personally, yes,” Umenyiora said.
Quote:

“It’s one of the more hostile places around the league to play without question, because the fans are so enthusiastic and so loyal to their team, and they’re not afraid to let the visiting team, and in some cases their own home team, know how they feel,” John Mara said.

Maybe that's why the Giants got shellacked in Cincinnati today. Because there were no fans there.

Al Bundy 11-11-2012 11:28 PM

This doesn't surprise me... Iggle fans are idiots.

mcaj22 11-12-2012 12:03 AM

nobody gives a shit when I go to the Linc in my Chiefs gear every 8 years. Maybe because they realize the Chiefs arent a threat anymore and they actually feel bad I cheer for a shittier team than theirs.

ugh. I would never go wearing Cowboys, Giants or Skins gear though.

You're just fortunate you weren't playing the mighty Matt Cassel in those super bowels.
