But from a competitive and recruiting standpoint, I do t see it being a spot that would lure the type of HC they seem to think it will.

IMO Peterson would be a great hire

Arkansas is a lot like OU (Oklahoma) in that many of the good players come from Texas.

Yes. Peterson, to me, would be the ideal hire.

And Hogville has shut out non-registered members, meaning that things have gotten nutty even by Arkansas standards.

At LSU, he has one of the strongest talent pools in the nation from which to recruit. Arkansas doesn't. Arkansas needs a coach who can take 3 star talent and coach them up to compete with 5 star recruits. That's a unique skill set that few coaches possess.

That's also one of the reasons that Long would be an idiot to make him an offer.

The thing about Miles is his name would help recruiting right away. Plus, Miles would probably bring some of his staff too.

I just have a hard time envisioning it. Arkansas fans have been making fun of this guy's coaching decisions ever since he's been at LSU. Albeit, some of that is sour grapes, but a lot of it is genuine puzzlement and marvel at some of the idiocy in which he engages. When you're at Arkansas, you don't have the margin of error to make stupid freaking decisions and still manage to win games.
