Didn't you win an award around these parts a few years back?

Well, grammar Nazis, should all songs and poems relentlessly follow Modern Midland American English pronunciation rules as well? Because she was drawing on a lyrical pronunciation.

Sajak's being an ass.

What happens in music and what happens in a game where rules are two different things. I am sure this has happened before and if they let it go now how do they explain that to the people they have been hard on in the past. There is a line where a person really didn't say the right thing. The producers are just trying to stay out of the grey area. It sucks and I feel for the woman, but comparing it to the rules of songs just isn't a very good analogy imho.

So Manning never considered us yet Roy was right about the Monday prediction? Also, I think "hand solo" is a bit redundant.

The reason the music analogy is good is because it is, in fact, a lyric from a song.

In most cases I would agree with you. Learn to pronounce the words right or gtfo. Because of the musical nature of this case I sympathize for her.

I feel bad for her, but in this situation I would have already been paranoid about not saying a word right. I certainly wouldn't have just said the answer with thousands on the line like I was sitting in my living room with family. I still contest that the music analogy isn't correct. While both are lyrics, both are also contained in two completely different arenas. One where its interpretive and another that has a strict set of rules. In the end though this isn't something that's worth arguing about, especially considering that I don't think we really strongly disagree about anything here to warrant it.
