I'd be more than serious about Saban if I could be assured of his sense of loyalty. I don't want him to pull on us what he pulled on the Phins. Otherwise, hell of a coach.

I remember they were about to sign Brees actually and it got nix'd at the last second. I'd take a guess that decision was due to the dumbass GM they had at the time.

Saban was bringing them up. Wasn't he hired after the team went winless or close to it?

Clark is going to go with a name brand hire, which is what he thought he was doing with Pioli.

That means,

Tier One: Tony Dungy, Bill Cowher, Andy Reid, Mike Holmgren, or Jon Gruden.
Tier Two: Nick Saban or Chip Kelly
Tier Three: Tom Clements, Bruce Arians, Mike Zimmer, or Kyle Shanahan

If Pioli is still in charge I think the list of "realistic" choices will be much smaller. None of the successful coaches are going to want to have anything to go him....so the Grudens, Cowhers, & Reids of the NFL will not even be seen in KC.

So, my early prediction with the tea leaves reading Pioli is still in charge would be McDaniels. I'm getting sick just thinking about it being a possibility.
