He seems like he needs a year off after the season and his family pressures. ...but if he wants to coach we can do a lot worse. He knows quarterbacks and is a great teacher.

My concerns with him would be:

Ability to hire a good enough staff
Reluctance to run the ball when it's needed to balance a gameplan
Age
Would he want to change the defense to a 4-3

Positives
He would be a proponent to resigning Albert and Bowe long term and he would want a quarterback with that top pick and he did wonders with McNabb.

I'd be perfectly fine with the hiring of Andy Reid...but I prefer Arians or Cowher if they are interested.

I like Reid a lot and think he would be a good fit in KC.

Having said that I understand people that would be critical of the move.

We could do worse than Reid, but we could do better. A fresh start is what he needs. John Fox was fired by the pitiful Panthers and now, with Denver, everyone thinks he's a good coach again.

I think much of what Reid accomplished in his years in Philly is due in large part to Jim Jhnson.

His Eagles teams have been nowhere the same since Jim Johnson died.

And a bunch of conference championship games.

The biggest question with Reid would be his DC hire...if he could get a premier guy into that role, he would be a really nice hiring.

Question....have any of his teams ever an a 3-4 defense?

I think Jim Johnson has a lot more to do with Andy Reid's success than Andy Reid. He hasnt been the same coach since he lost him.

The defense was my concern as well. He's always seemed hands off with the defense here so it's a possibility he could bring a coordinator that knows the 3-4

Reid was good when his old fart Defensive CORD was alive

For any team to have a chance at consistently competing, they need a premier dc and a franchise QB.

I wouldn't exactly hold that against Reid, but I would hold some of his dc hires after JJ against him, that's for sure.

Mother****erJones 12-30-2012 10:21 PM

Remember the stat that no HC has won a SB with 2 different teams. Reid came close. He knows how to coach and coach in the post season. Unlike Marty Schottenheimer

The Bad Guy 12-30-2012 10:22 PM

If Reid did come here, he'd need to hire someone who could run the 3-4.

tredadda 12-30-2012 10:22 PM

So if he were to bring in a good DC how many people would be against hiring Reid?

dirk digler 12-30-2012 10:23 PM

no thanks. He needs to take a couple of years off to get his family and life straightened out.

BossChief 12-30-2012 10:24 PM

I'd also like to point out that I have compared Geno Smith to Donovan McNabb quite a bit and think they are similar players. Reid would be. Good fit for a coach like Andy Reid IMO.

If he could bring a good dc with him, I would be on board.
