His time with the 9ers was pretty rough on him. He was drafted in '05 while SF was trying to build a team. You stick Casshole in his place, and 9er fans kill him in the parking lot before he can be traded.

It was so rough that guys like Shaun Hill outplayed him.

I'd rather go 5-11 with a rookie QB like Geno Smith next season than go 9-7 with Alex Smith.

Geno Smith is a future franchise QB
. Alex Smith is a future Steve Bono.

Maybe, maybe not.

Meh. Hill had substantially more experience than Smith at that point.

Alex Smith was a 4-year veteran at that point.

And even when he returned for his fifth year, he wasn't playing at the level Hill did.

Peter King approves this thread.

Can't wait for geno smith to bust, anyone outside this board knows he is one of the worst QB prospects in the first round in a long time

Not likely, but we'd at least be attempting to move in that direction. A rookie QB brings hope and promise for the future.

Trading for AS just means the trip takes even longer.

Yeah I'm not going to believe anything this guy thinks.

Pioli did NOT bring in Glenn Dorsey. We did NOT release Dorsey.

I'd hope we can have a huge turnaround. We should be able to atleast double our win total

And where has Shaun Hill been since those glorious years?

If the Chiefs fail to win at least 8 games in 2013, they will have been a major disappointment.

This really isn't going out on a limb... the team totally underachieved thanks to a horrible QB and other issues. Give 'em a last place schedule, a few new players - several being quite nice actually - a weak division considering SD and OAK... and voila - you could see .500 at the very least. It's not crazy talk really.

Imon Yourside 03-14-2013 04:55 PM

All we have to have happen is Alex Smith turn into Tom Brady and we have a shot!

O.city 03-14-2013 04:56 PM

With last years team, we probably should have won about 6 games. So sure we should probably win ATLEAST 8. I think we'll win more honestly.
