So Chiefs fans are already making up excuses for when Geno fails?

ROFL

He'll wash out in NY in 3 years.

Face it. NYJ is a tough situation. Possibly one of the worst for Geno.

Chiefs, AZ, Philly... I honestly think Geno would be successful in those situations.

It's not an excuse, it's reality.

That said, I still expect Geno to succeed when he gets his opportunity.

Rex Ryan has done a great job of deflecting criticism from Mark Sanchez, and Marty Morningweg is a solid QB coach at OC.

I think it would be better for geno to sit for a bit, but I also believe it's not nearly as bad for him as most believe.

Ryan might be gone after this season, so yes, it will be a tough situation for Geno.

It's going to be the first time Mornhinweg is going to be on his own since the Lions. It'll be interesting to see how he does under Rex. The Jets haven't done a good job developing offensive talent at all.

Plus Rex is trying to win now to save his job. Not develop a QB for 3 years from now.

Newsflash. Every QB that gets drafted 1.1 goes to complete cluster****, yet they are expected to produce. Why should it be any different for Geno who half this board thought was worth the 1.1?

Player's coach and head coach's owner=ruin.

I guess we will find out. Regardless, the NY media is ruthless and just from Geno's drama yesterday, I think they will eat him alive if he doesn't produce. Sanchize is a pretty laid back guy and he's managed to do ok with the media, but the Jets won some playoff games with him too and beat the hated Pats. So he kind of got a pass. This year, no way. Sanchize is in a bad situation. Even if the team does win he will be scrutinized ad nausium.

I think because the Chiefs have Charles and Bowe. Plus some good players on the line. The Jets have been an offensive disaster, and their coaching staff doesn't have a sterling track record of developing offensive players.

Plus a lot of 1.1 picks go to new regimes, so they have time. The Jets are a circus with a coaching staff hanging in there just looking to save their jobs.

It's sad that he got drafted into the circus. Rex Ryan is on the hot seat and needs to try and spark the team.

The best would have been for Geno to sit for a year and possibly more, but in NY he will be expected to play right away.

Seems like this whole offseason has been a quasi replay of 2009 in many respects.

I didn't want Sanchez, but if we drafted him we would have needed to sit him for a year or more...but NY started him right away.

At least we took an impact player at the top of the draft, though.

DOH

The Jets are the biggest circus in the league. Not even Andrew Luck or RG3 would be 100% guaranteed to turn that mess around. They need a complete change in ownership and coaching and their whole roster needs to be blown up. Expecting Geno to just have success while thrust into the middle of that shitstorm is a bit outrageous.

Did you think it would be any other way?

Not true. The Colts, Lions, and Rams (for example) were just bad... other teams like the Jets and Raiders are/were bad and a complete circus from top to bottom.

So yeah, I can understand why Chiefs fans aren't willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

LOL Chargers fan I guess it'd be better if he was more like Rivers throwing 35 ints over the last 2 years. You can have your yards number 1 stat that determines winning and losing in the nfl is turnover differential.
