There. At least it's somewhat factual now.

I find it hysterical.

So your point was that lots of people on the Internet share my view, but for some reason that view does not seem to be shared when it comes to purchasing habits?

Got it. For some reason your post just came off as either telling me I was wrong for my opinion, or that I lied and secretly bought all the new albums. Must have just read too much into it.

I find it hysterical.

Do you think a large portion of that is due to the hugeness they amassed in the 80s and 90s?

90's, yes. 80's, no.

Then it's not hysterical. They are a huge band that has stuck together so they sell shit out so that people can say they have seen Metallica.

Thanks for taking time out from cooking meth to engage in this conversation.

Your input has been remarkable.

Yeah, bad sentence. Point is, they keep selling millions, and keep selling out shows due to prior god like status.

That is completely untrue.

Unlike Aerosmith, Van Halen, Mötley Crüe and others from that era, Metallica isn't a nostalgia act. They continue to release albums on a semi-regular basis, the last five of which were #1 the week upon release. The Black album sold more than 12 million copies its first year of release alone.

Bands that sell out stadiums worldwide and sell millions of copies upon each release aren't living off of a single record released 27 years in the past.
