Remember when Fonzie did the motorcycle jump in the parking lot of Arnold's? Then the shark jump (I think) was the show trying to recreate that buzz during an inevitable Vacation In Hawaii series of episodes. I am surprised that the shark jump was as early on as it was too. I think we just stopped watching at that point, and the show ended for us. I don't even remember the other brother showing up when Richie left.

You do spend an inordinate amount of time talking about him.

It's currently relevant and it's slow at work.

AHA! This is where I think the original meaning of the term has been lost, even on wiki. When this first came about Fonzie "jumping the shark" was being referred to as the absolute peak of the show, which was then followed by a steady decline. I know Evel Kneival followed that episode by jumping an actual tank of sharks.

So as I understood it many years ago, "Jumping the Shark" was initially used to describe when a show had peaked, and was at it's best, and everything following that was trending towards decline. (I would have submitted "Who Shot Mister Burns" as this moment for the Simpsons using this definition.)

DISCLAIMER: I can't find any online support for my recollection of these events.

Are you aware that there are more than 3 threads on CP at this time?

I'm aware that I'm following three threads and I'm also aware that you have show your obsession with Fraz in those three threads,I'm also aware that I've never paid attention to you until now and also aware that I will no longer do so.

Happy Holidays.

OMG FRAZBOB IS A VICTIM AND KC NATIVE IS SHITTING ALL OVER THE BOARD!

We get it, you cried and cried and cried and cried about lil frazzie hurting your feelings, and you finally won. Congrats. That doesn't mean your little lovers' quarrel needs to infect every thread.

You're clearly obsessed. Just the passive aggressive side of the same coin.

Other brother? Did Chuck come back or did the parents have a surprise child?

Once the guys got older, I think it was hard to keep the show going. They were high school guys who aged into college and then into adults, and the show was completely different. At some point before it ended, I stopped watching it too. I don't remember what the catalyst was, though, and it may have even been before they jumped the shark, because I never saw that episode.

I just remembered, though. They introduced Mork from Ork in that show. That was quite the bizarre twist on a 1950s family sitcom.

I think Henry Winkler covered in Bees is better.

How long did Batman carry around that shark repellent before he finally got the chance to use it?
