Eh....

If Cyril Richardson is still there, I'd say I'd go that route, but that's a big maybe...

Personally, I don't know why he's being undersold at this point - other than the Senior Bowl thing with Aaron Donald, but Donald destroyed everyone there that week. He was an absolute lock for the first round at one point and was the best offensive lineman in the Big 12 this past season.

Other than that, you are looking at Chris Watt of Notre Dame, Joe Halapio of Florida, Joel Bitonio of Nevada or the Dakota Dozier guy from Furman (but I have no idea about that dude whatsoever).

You either go with S'ua-Filo with that first pick or hold your breath that somebody like Richardson will still be on the board.

I just don't think that leaving a gaping hole at RG like they have is going to be left to late round chance.

I really wish we would just draft BPA and pickup Dee Ford. He's such STUD.

Stop with this Zach Martin is a pro bowl level OG bullshit.

So you're saying that every scout/professional that says so is wrong?

No, they may not be, but you just don't draft guards in the first round. You just don't ****ing do it.

Bowser 03-15-2014 08:21 PM

If we skip Beckham or Ward or Ebron for a ****ing guard, I may well literally shit bricks.

But he's not just a guard, he can also be a tackle and therefore is insurance for both Stephenson and Fisher should either one of them crap the bed or get injured.:)

Dorsey is a guy who loves maximizing value and also loves building from the trenches. You have to bet that he and Reid are going to wet themselves if Martin is there at 23.

Okay guys...we can all breath deep sighs of relief.

Sanders didn't sign with the Chiefs and we won't draft a guard in the first.

It's going to come down to Lee, Cooks or Beckham.

Everything is alright in the world once again.

That's the brightside of that whole ordeal.:harumph:

Speaking of OL players in the draft:

Quote:

Xavier Su’a-Filo, G (6-3 7/8, 305) — Su’a-Filo ran the 40 in 4.97 and 5.07 seconds. He had a 26-inch vertical and 8-7 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.46 seconds and the three-cone in 7.93 seconds. He performed 26 strength lifts. Mora said that scouts told him that they felt Su’a-Filo is the best guard prospect since Steve Hutchinson came out in 2001.
That's some pretty high praise . . .

He's a nice player.

Fits Reid's offense to a "T" actually.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was the pick and I wouldn't complain about it, especially considering the very large need at OG that we currently have.

The high level OL prospects look like they fall off pretty hard in the late second/early third round, whereas the WR prospects should still be really strong when we pick again in the third.

I guess they're saying that Sua'filo is on par with or may be even better than Decastro?

Wait...what?

I thought that was Chance Warmack?

Direckshun 03-16-2014 02:31 PM

DeCastro was the perfect guard prospect.

No guard in this draft touches him. No one comes close. DeCastro was the Stanford running game for two years.

No guard in this draft comes close to that kind of tape.
