I believe it's a function of the new CBA.

Less time spent working out as a team, fewer OTA's and Mini-camps, less time in pads, no more Two-A-Days and far less contact.

What happens is that not only are teams rusty, guys fall into bad habits in terms of tackling and blocking. While their mental acuity is still sharp, their bodies aren't reacting as quickly due to less repetitions and less game-like experience.

This exactly. I love the NFL and will always watch it but the overall quality of games has been mostly crap. This is directly due to your above post.

Come playoff time the cream rises to the top every year. Nothing will change this year either.

100% agree with this. They made these changes after the lockout, and I'm not sure the quality has ever recovered.

So I started Big Ben over Aaron Rodgers in my FFL today, and now I will lose.

This is madness.

With the new cba, I think coaching is more important than talent in today's NFL.

Good thing for us, we have a great coaching staff. Also good for 7s, Reids teams usually play better late in the year as guys get healthy.

A guy did the same thing in my league, but I think he is going to win.

I am betting 99% of owners who have those two QBs would have done the same thing.

I started Rivers last week over Brady. Figuring Donks > Dolphins. :banghead:

You take the risk of leaving 5+ Rapistburger TDs on the bench if you have Rodgers. He should start every game he's active.

I'll help you feel better about yourself.

I figured Romo would hand the ball off 40 times and throw about 15-20 passes. So I benched him.

For......wait for it.....

David Carr. Or is it Derek? The ****ing one who is the Raiders QB

Now I need AJ Hawk to not get 6 IDP pts for me to win.

It also made it a million times more difficult for rookies to win jobs in training camp, let alone play well. I really hope the NFLPA re-thinks this one.

Get back some practice time at the expense of two preaseason games and an additional bye week.

The Football gods are as capricious as they are evil and love to see us mortals suffer their whims of torture. Don't tempt them.
