Depends on how you read stats, and how you measure meaningful production. I think Yards per Catch and Touchdowns Scored are the two most important categories.

All had better yards per catch average. Paige and Burford had more TDs than Bowe. Burford played in a Super Bowl. Taylor played in two Super Bowls. Bowe has played in none.

Paige held an NFL record for the most yards receiving in one game. December 22, 1985, Paige had 309 yards receiving yards versus the San Diego Chargers, an NFL record until it was broken in 1989 by Flipper Anderson of the Los Angeles Rams with 336 yards; Anderson's record holds an asterisk since it was broken in overtime.

Carlos Carson has as many Pro Bowl appearances as Bowe.

Speed for what exactly? So Alex Smith can ignore him? Or better yet....so Smith can over throw him?

Speed gets recievers open quickly. Bowe almost never has good separation and he simply takes too long to go from zero to sixty and that limits his ability and routes he can run. Every DB knows he will not even attempt to run by them thus making him easier to cover.

Even bigger problem is Smith can't drop back and survey the field because our OL is such crap. That is the reason for all the dump offs more than anything else, not Andy's offense.

There are many good receivers that don't have blazing speed. That isn't how bowe is built and we've known this since day one. Yet somehow, every qb he's played with has made use of him until now.

I'd venture to say Chris Burford is the second greatest receiver ever for KC, after Otis Taylor. Otis should be in the Pro Football HOF, and it's a crime that he is not a member.

Paige, Carson and Marshall are not in the Chiefs Hall of Honor. I doubt Bowe makes it either for his history of off the field issues. Character matters.

Gotta love CP. Worship the name on the back of the jersey. Careless about winning championships.

I still say the OL has ruined our offense more than anything. It's the one thing that changed from last season when. They suck and have all year. Did Matt not have a better OL that let him have a little time? Bowe needs time to get going, it's not by accident Wilson is the one they sent deep a few times.

Something is not right this year. Either with him, Smith, Reid, the line or a combination of all of them. Smith went to him last year so you can't say Smith doesn't trust him. There has to be something we don't know about to explain the lack of WR production in general, not just Bowe.

Bowe is the reason why the Chiefs haven't won a championship?

Probably in your mind.

BigMeatballDave 12-23-2014 01:49 PM

He'll be back, Reid likes him.

He will be back after a big restructure.

I don't think he will have any big takers out there and the will want him back but only if he agrees to a pay structure as a top #2 wr in the NFL.

That would be a win for both sides.

I was at that game. Man, were the stands ever empty. IIRC, he barely played in the 4th quarter.
