My Dad was 46 when I was born. He said having me late in his life helped keep him young. My buddies gave me all sorts of grief because my Dad looked more like a Grandfather than a Father when I was a teen. All I know is that he was a great Dad and was a wonderful example for me.
Grats on the new baby Brother, Ben! |

Very sweet picture. Enjoy being a big bro...

When I was 15, and my brother was 13, my parents had twin sons.
I left for college when they were 2-1/2. They don't remember when I lived at home for more than a couple of months at a time. My calculus book from my freshman year in college has their scribble marks in it. They don't remember a time before I met my wife -- she has always been a part of their life. Same with my other brother's wife. I moved away from KC when they were around 10 and have only seen them for a few days per year since then. We get along fine, but are very different. They have their lives, and I have mine. Without common interests (other than the Chiefs and my parents) and leading separate lives, it is difficult to have close relationships. |
