Hilarious.

Well, at least there are no more excuses.

I'm sure homers will invent plenty, though.

Omg.

Mr. Laz 05-19-2015 02:29 PM

Mark Brunell doesn't have Alex Smith in his top 18 quarterbacks

not in his first 2 QB tiers either

below 2nd tier
ranked lower than 18th

that should make several people around here happy

So we have a top 10 first round drafted qb.

Whats the problem around here?

ViperVisor 05-19-2015 05:48 PM

Matthew Stafford is not a top 10 QB.

Remember when CHI traded for a young guy who had a huge breakout year?

Cutler's next 3 years
59.9% 7.1 YPA 63 TD 49 INT 82.1 Rating

Chicago 18th in points scored

Turns out that guy never broke his bad habits to become a consistent, great QB.

Stafford's last 3 years
59.6% 7.1 YPA 71 TD 48 INT 83.0 Rating

Detroit 18th in points scored

Poor Alex, he's so underrated...

...and for far too long!

Titty Meat 05-19-2015 06:26 PM

Alex Smith will throw 26 tds 8 ints

I would take the following QBs ranked below Alex over him (in no order):

Eli Manning
Joe Flacco
Matt Ryan
Matt Stafford
Ryan Tannehill
Cam Newton
Colin Kaepernick
Teddy Bridgewater

and possibly
Marcus Mariota
Jameis Winston

You wear one of those special helmets huh?

Peyton Manning has made an entire career with YAC.

But unlike Smith, he has attacked the deep zones on a consistent basis throughout his career, which opens up the short passing game and allows for that YAC.

Rausch 05-19-2015 07:56 PM

I don't care what his numbers are or where he's ranked.

When we have the ball at the end of the game 4 times I want him to put us in a position to win 3 of them.

If that means setting up a realistic FG, then get us that far. If it means a TD, manage the clock like a professional, don't scramble in bounds when you know not to, don't hold on to the ball for an hour, and don't take unnecessary sacks.
