I've seen that, but will they be able to fit everyone onto the buses at that time? I feel like there could be a surprise waiting game for those who show up a little later. I've never taken a shuttle, so just asking.

I'm guessing a lot of people will be showing up an hour or two early for those and maybe even forcing them to do an early trip or two if the shuttles are sitting there before 9.

Damn that makes my knees hurt thinking about it.
Camping chairs, liter soda (1.25 and 1.5) and munchies.

I wonder if there's free wifi on the lawn of the WWII Memorial....

I'm guessing not free if any is in that area. It's likely a dead zone for wifi.

The bandwagon fans peeve me. I'm glad the Royals brand has grown, but man, I sat through the 2000's and had season tickets in 2004 and saw all those 100 loss teams and endured it.

Then I've seen the young guys grow and develop and it's been a true pleasure to watch unfold. I've probably missed about 30 Royals games this season and last combined. Just realize it's sweeter when as a real fan we've gone through the journey to get to the top and had the full experience.

I can see that to an extent with watching these guys come up and get better each season like you said in your last sentence, but not so much with watching 106 losses 10 years ago. I used to feel that way back in the day, like when Rams fans came out of the woodwork after their SB win, but these days I can't blame people for not watching something that isn't the least bit entertaining. And the Chiefs had fairly recent heartbreak back then, where as the Royals had 'only' not met expectations of becoming a playoff team.

The past couple of seasons have been a celebration of baseball (well, either pro sport) being back in KC, and largely a celebration between the generation who watched the 70s/80s Royals and their children or even grandchildren. Hopefully they're making some lifelong fans and will give them a reason to keep watching for years to come.

In.

Taking the shuttle from Red Bridge. Was going to leave at 10, but thinking now that I may want to get there sooner, like 9.

In. Hauling about 8 others plus meeting up with family and friends. It's going to be a crush of humanity, but I wouldn't miss it for the world.

I live in DSM and I've blown most of my remaining vacation on the playoffs. BUT I did stop by the stadium on my way back home to get a shirt and just happened to be there right in time to see Ned triumphantly carry the trophy through gate C followed by the rest of the team, so I'll just take that as an acceptable parade memory substitute.

Lonewolf Ed 11-02-2015 09:55 PM

I will be getting another chemo treatment, so I am stuck in the cancer center and will miss the parade. *groan*

Crap I own a parking lot 1 block off the parade route and I'm sure I'd have to tow someone to get a spot in it.

Coming up from Wichita. Planning to park at Kemper and take the shuttle. Fingers crossed its not full before we get there.

My wife was just saying she wished we could have been there and that could be our parade substitute.

I believe the parade will also be shown on local channel news and MLB network.
