I once had a protein powder container full of coins that I cashed in for like $140 or something.. And that's nothing compared to some of the stories I've heard from others.
I'll continue to hoard coins I find until I'm physically incapable/the juice just isn't worth the squeeze anymore. |

maybe the protein container turned your pennis into nickels, nickels into dimes, dimes to quarters, and you still had a pennis. |

Huh? |
I find that the older I get the denomination of money has to proportionate. When I was younger pennies, nickles, and dimes were fair game. Then it was nothing but quarters. Now unless it is a bill not worth the effort and my back thanks me.

Man, I'm lame sometimes. |
I actually lose money by taking the time to stop and pick up change.

I'm the guy THROWING away the pennies you guys pick up. I NEVER accept pennies from a store or any other establishment. If they want to give me back 1,2, or 3 pennies I tell them to keep them or put them on the register for someone to use. If they try to give me back 4 pennies I tell them I want a nickel and they always oblige.
You need to save 10,000 pennies for a hundred bucks. I got better things to do with my time. |

Jump up and save it. Most transactions are digital (debt/credit/welfare/phones) anyway... |

Instead, we are wasting money making new designs for our pennies. |
I'd pick up a quarter, but hesitate. I hate carrying any cash, and change is the worst.

There is 144,000 seconds per 40 hours. So, $160,000 a year, that is $3076 a week, and earning $0.02 per second. Assuming it takes 5 seconds to notice, evaluate, and pick up a coin, it is only worth my time to pick it up if it is a dime or more.
