They jumped teams to get a player they viewed as a franchise quarterback in the first round (which your hilariously reductive description universally defines).
Allegedly, if the Chiefs were going to take him at 28, or trade up to get him, they felt similarly. And simply put, they were less aggressive or felt the price was too high.
It's a ****ing franchise QB -- you usually have to spend to get one. And it's the most important position in sports.
