I couldn't disagree more. Let's take a deeper look at the situation:
Instead of taking Eric Fisher with the #1 overall pick in 2013, they take Sheldon Richardson. The Chiefs don't have a pick until the 3rd round of the 2013 draft in which they select Travis Kelce, then Knile Davis. Branden Albert was Franchised in 2013 and started 12 games at left tackle. He left in 2014 for a $47 million dollar deal with Miami, and he's missed 11 out of 32 games. Had Richardson stayed in KC, Donald Stephenson would have filled in for him in 2014 and 2015 and the Chiefs would have been on a books for a huge contract for an often injured player. Let's say that the Chiefs balked at Albert's price and decided to draft a left tackle in the 2014 draft. The Chiefs chose at #23 overall. This is the list of the remaining tackles in the 2014 draft at #23: Cyrus Kouandjio Jack Mewhort Justin Britt Morgan Moses Billy Turner Michael Schofield Cameron Fleming Kevin Pamphile Tavon Rooks Mitchell Van Dyk Ulrick John Seantrel Henderson Charles Leno, Jr. Do any of those guys appear to be quality starting NFL left tackles? That's right, the answer is a resounding "NO". The "best" offensive lineman in that list is probably Britt but after sucking at right tackle, the Seahawks moved him inside to left guard in which he finished as the #49 overall according to PFF. In no universe should the Chiefs have taken anyone but Fisher #1 in the 2013 NFL Draft. And FWIW, the Dolphins haven't had a winning record since signing Albert to that monster deal and they just took another left tackle at #13 overall in the 2016 draft after he slid from the Top 5 due to the weed video. |
Terron armstead could habe been had in 2013, but probably miss out on kelce unless he would have continued to fall due to off field issues.
Had it worked out, Richardson Armstead Kelce Is better than Fisher Kelce Davis But fisher was the way to go as we've seen now, I was mainly ****ing with snr thru an inside joke. |

I think Sheldon Richardson would have gone a long way in the Chiefs playoff run that season. They probably don't fold in Indy if they could of broke down Luck's pocket.
Same in New England, so I can't fault them for wanting better rush from the DL. |
Damn glad to hear it, the guy is a classic late bloomer
He has flashed dominance against guys like Von Dope and he started to pair those flashes with consistency last year... the guy is just now getting started |
