Ten Things About Last Night’s Playoff Loss
-Chiefs run defense is awful. HORRIFIC
-They led the league in giving up runs of ten yards or more, and since Derrick Johnson’s injury, run defense has been a giant liability.
-Defense and special teams scored almost 50% of the team’s points in the regular season.
-Chiefs have been terrible on third down conversions-last night they were 2 for 9.
-Chiefs have not generated the kind of pass rush that was anticipated when the season started.
-He also had critical drops by Maclin, West, Ware and Kelce.
-Bell had 30 carries for 170 yards - monster game.
-People this morning were applauding the defense for not giving up a TD.
-Why is Peters not covering Brown on that play, and why is your $100 million man, Justin Houston, NOT rushing the QB?
-Chiefs vaunted pass rush combo of Hali, Houston and Ford had a combined record of 1/2 sack.
-Again, Reid shows no sense of urgency, and forces the game down to a make or break two point conversion.
-They passed on an on-side kick, and when the defense got down to a critical third and three after the two minute warning, couldn’t get to Ben or stop Brown. Game over.
-A big deal was made about how Andy Reid was 19-2 coming off a bye, and 3-0 with playoff byes. Truth is, he’s now 1-3 in the playoffs as KC’s coach.
-In Arrowhead’s 45 year history, KC has two…..TWO…home playoff victories. That’s a disgrace.
-Over the past 14 years, every AFC Super Bowl team has been led by either Brady, Manning, Rapistburger or Flacco, all better QBs than Smith.
-Kudos to the fans who showed up last night.

You have so many great points in this year ending post GBlowfish. I pulled out what I see as the top disappointments for me both for the season and the game.
There are a lot of positives to like with the talent we have, the recent draft picks of Dorsey, but we seem to always come up just a little short.
There will be some tough off-season decisions and I think Poe is probably gone. He had a horrible year. Was it because no one else helped and he got double teamed all year? Was his back really that bad? Pouncey DESTROYED him this game and made him look like a 200 pounder. That's why Pouncey is a Pro Bowler
Whatever Pittsburgh saw during the film highlights of Tyreek Hill, they found a perfect formula on the kickoffs and they shut him down every time and they seemed to be on top of him the moment he caught the kickoffs. It was shocking, not a single time of 7 kickoffs and 1 punt did he come close to a big return.
The Steelers knew we sucked on run stoppage and they gang raped us. It was embarrassing like Auburn or Clemson playing Mary Washington College.
Alex Smith was horrible with his field vision as usual and he missed at least 4-5 times with WIDE open receivers down the field.
The Chiefs defense was gassed most of the first half and Ramik Wilson was the leading tackler with 15, you mentioned it was Houston but that was incorrect. Berry was next at 7, which tells you that all the tackles occurred AFTER Bell broke through our line.
Poe the PIG had only 4 tackles and they ran 35 times!
We will lose a lot of FA's this year and I'm OK with that.
This is what a winning franchise looks like:
Since the NFL merger in 1970, the Pittsburgh Steelers have compiled a regular season record of 363–235–2 (.607) and an overall record of 394–253–2 (.609) including the playoffs, reached the playoffs 25 times, won their division 20 times, played in 15 AFC championship games, and won six of eight Super Bowls.
Another great note, you posted to the younger fans about the frustration of us older fans who have seen too many ways we lose over that time and that is why we are so jaded. Optimism is a great thing but the Chiefs have a way to crush your spirit, time after time.
On a closing note, Have a great offseason, thanks so much for writing the Ten Things, good luck with your Royals, and lastly but certainly not least, thank you very much along with Mrs Blowfish for the wonderful hospitality during my visit!:clap::clap::clap::clap:
