Yea, but would it continue beyond a few seasons if Ballard can't acquire the talent like Dorsey seems to be doing?

2-3 window of legit super bowl contention versus 10 years of high-level talent?

We don't know what Ballard can do.

Is Dorsey really doing great or is it Andy?

No way. People always point to Elway, but he worked his way up as an executive in the Arena League before taking over the Donks. Peyton has no experience yet.

Manning has already said NO

Grigson could go down as one of the worst drafters ever. With glaring holes at offensive line, he drafted WR Phillip Dorset in first round. I don't think he's even a starter.

NO but I would trade Smith, Foles and Braids for Andrew Luck straight up...

Without even blinking on it...

You wouldn't trade Dorsey for luck?! Especially with ballard in the wings.

Would trade Dorsey, Reid, our whole coaching staff, whole team, and every single employee the Chiefs have. Would even throw in the Hunt family.

I wouldn't.

First, there is no guarantee that Ballard would be as good as Dorsey.

Second, for all the hype that Luck gets, he is overhyped.

He isn't raising the level of play around him.
He holds the ball too long, making the line in front of him look worse than they are, which is not to say they are good.
He makes bad decisions, throws bad picks, and he is not leading that team to division crowns in a weak ass division.

Third, I believe when Dorsey sees the right QB in the draft, he will pull the trigger, and further, if he needs to make a move in the draft to get that guy, he will.

I'd rather Dorsey be the guy to continue to put talent around his drafted QB than hope that Ballard isn't a bust GM.

I don't think taking Dorsett was necessarily the issue itself. I was screaming for KC to draft that kid. I envisioned Dorsett being the weapon here that Hill has become. Same type of blazing speed. Problem is, the coaching staff in Indy has no ****ing clue how to use him. That's not Grigson's fault.

Grigson also drafted quite a few O-Lineman. In fact, the only draft he didn't was the one he took Dorsett in. He spent premium picks on those guys too, 1st to 4th rounders. Effort was there, results were not.

He had the unenviable task when he arrived of having to fix the whole thing. That defense was 100% depleted or old as **** and they never had an O-line worth a shit the entire time Manning played there because he masked it. The receivers were old too and they had no running back. Grigson tried to do it, but too many picks failed to produce.

Grigson may have drafted the wrong guys, absolutely would agree with that. However, I think as least as much of the failure needs to be pinned on their shitty head coach and that staff.

Dorsey has reportedly seen the right QB twice now, and each time he got out-dueled in the trade up.

I have no faith that even if Dorsey sees his guy that he'll have the balls to go get him. He's going to stay the course and not put all his eggs in a single basket.

Hoopsdoc 01-22-2017 10:21 AM

I actually defended this guy at one point.

Now players are taking shots at him left and right, from Pat Mcafee to Reggie freakin Wayne. Apparently, the guy was an arrogant douche of the highest magnitude.

Saw a blurb this morning that Irsay actually brought in a psychiatrist to try and fix the relationship between Grigson and Pagano.

As bad as Grigson was, Pagano is just as bad or worse. I don't see any way a new GM will keep him as coach, unless they promote Jimmy Raye. Which would be a huge mistake, IMO.

They need a brand new start.

I don't believe he was nearly as convinced on Paxton Lynch as we've been led to believe, and I am not sure who the other QB is that you are referencing.

I also believe he had to give the Alex Smith experience time to develop, and have to believe he has, like us, seen enough.

Wasn't he the guy that traded at least a 1st round pick for Trent Richardson? End of story
