Alex is gonna put a limitation on any offense. Can't blame the play call when Reek streaks open and phantom pressure causes a pants shitting

Sideways passes play to our team's strengths and our OL is weak in the middle. I'd say that's just Reid trying to stay one step ahead of the opposition.

It's also one of those situations where he looks like a genius when it works but gets crucified when it doesn't.

I dunno, I'd like to see some stats on the "rate of success" of the sideways pass. It seems to me that if the play worked to our teams strengths, it would be WAY more successful. As it is, it seems like it works 1 out of 10 friggin' times.

It led to an 80 yarder against Denver. When it works it works. Falcon run that play all the time with Gabriel.

Almost like Andy Reid coached in Philly too.

I don't have a problem with sideways passes. I have a problem with the timing of many of them. Andy had this problem in Philly too. Again, situational playcalling.

In fairness, it's a product of the qb too. Andy ran a ton of screens with McNabb. But not nearly the amount of sideways stuff. He was actually accused of hating the run when he was in Philly which is not the case in KC

I can't wait to hear the phone all Andy and John make to the quarterback were gonna draft.

That guy knows his shit backwards and forwards. He's a great football coach.

The problem is that he doesn't know his own weaknesses and limitations. which leads to his inability to learn from his mistakes.

He is his own worst enemy.

Well that depends on your definition of what works.

A screen that goes for 4-5 yards is still generally a good play. Remember it's often an extension of the running game.

We've scored MANY TDs on screens of all types over the last handful of seasons with Reid.

They get annoying when we're down in the red zone or on 3rd and 8+, I agree.

I can't be sure but I think that has something to do with the QB. We've seen Alex's reluctance to throw the ball past the sticks/into the end zone. Half the time he's going to check it down anyway, may as well call a screen or two designed to spring a guy as opposed to a wasted opportunity.
