This was a very strange game for me as I had a real hard time getting into the spirit of the game. Maybe it was everyone saying we would win or blow them out, or that we play the Cards so infrequently that they don't inspire any hatred or passion like other teams. Whatever it was, I didn't feel the normal highs and lows but whatever, I know Monday Night's matchup against the Rams will be exciting for sure.

I felt like that the last 2 weeks, and both games we let bad teams hang around for too long.

And how did Conley have a good game? Is he awesome at blocking? I feel like he's been invisible this year.
I think this offense really missed Watkins today.

And can we please get defensive guys to turn their head in coverage?? Nieman could have easily had one today that floated to him and he never turned around. Forget who the other corner was in the end zone, but the ball almost hit, if he would just turn around. Guess this was the one good thing Peters was good at

Good read George. Finally got fieldwork finished so I was able to watch.

Yeah it wasn’t our best game but the whole team looked flat. Maybe a step slow. I’d like to think there is another gear if they need it. At least the offense.

Hopefully we come out fast against the rams. The bye week needs to get here.

I was only able to watch the end of the 2nd quarter to the end of the game, (I was hunting this weekend and had to get to Mass at noon)so I missed most of the scoring. Offense looked sluggish and vanilla from what I saw. As someone said, it felt like they almost just mailed this one in considering the opponent. Defense came through for us, and that's just fine with me. You can't expect the offense to drop 30+ every week. It was nice seeing the offense struggle but the defense stepped up...and I never really felt the game was out of reach. 3rd quarter was pretty damn bad though.

Great write up as always my man. Looking forward to Monday night. My boss is a Rams fan and we've been politely complementing each other all season. I'm looking forward to the Chiefs laying one on the Lambs...GO CHIEFS!

I think Mahomes was probably affected some by his girlfriend's stepfather dying at Arrowhead yesterday before the game. I guess at that point he possibly would have only known that the man collapsed, but still, he seemed a little off. Obviously, the OL was a bit more porous than usual which will **** everything up too.

I kept my eye on the Skins stat line and kept thinking, "there but for the grace of God,..."

Yesterday's game with Alex Smith still here would have been that one game a season Andy likes to lose and shouldn't.

Stellar job as usual, George. Just to emphasize a some of your points, I'll start with the penalties. Too many stupid ones. As you pointed out, both AZ's scoring drives were possible because of them. Couple that with a lackluster 2nd half offense and we could have been 8-2 instead of 9-1.
Fisher had an awful game, but he wasn't alone. Five sacks and a few hits on Mahommes is way too many. Couple that with Hunt being trapped in the backfield more than a couple times and that will blunt our scoring machine. Let's get Ware in there just a little more.
Our D was much better today. I'm not going to say it was all due to Houston's return, but you can't deny he was a force. I'll give Dirty Dan some props, too. It's nice to see a member of our secondary lay a hit on somebody. Niemann just needs to add some beef over the off season. He's a rookie UDFA so he's going to make some mistakes.

I’m a little concerned that KC only had around 90 yards of offense in the second half, and only scored six points on a short drive after the Houston pick.
In their defense, a little, Arizona milked about 8 minutes off the clock to start the second half. It was inevitable that we’d finally have a fairly pedestrian offensive game. It looked like we just kind of went through the motions, knowing that we’d win no matter how poorly we played.

I went to the game and was disappointed with the crowd. Lots of empties all over. And getting into the stadium is still a debacle. Got in line at 11:05. By the time we got to our seats, there was 10:00 left in the first half. It was a joke. You gotta get in line 1.5 hours in advance to make it by kickoff.

Hmmm...I was at the Denver game and we walked in after 11am and got to see the kickoff. Maybe it's the gate you came in through?

The crowd was pretty weak and wasnt as loud as I remembered it.

Maybe it was the opponent? Maybe it was the fact that the Offense and Reid mailed in the game and played "cute" ball all day?

If you were wanting to see and explosive dominating offense, yesterday wasnt the day...

It felt like a Herm Era game... I went to Arrowhead to watch MVP punt all day... The O kept sucking the life out of the crowd.

Yeah I went to the Denver game too and it was pretty slow as well. Went in the HyVee gate. Don’t know what the deal is.

Formerly known as MVP, Dustin Colquitt had a game.

I think that was the most he punted in a game all season.

 WTF? Ouch! We get to the line about 45-50 minutes before kickoff, usually see the flames, and have never missed the kickoff.

We went in at 10 am yesterday. Walked around, checked out the HOF, Pro shops, warm ups, etc...

For us we didnt miss anything yesterday.

Awesome stuff, gracias mi amigo! (getting ready for Mexico)

DJJasonp 11-12-2018 09:23 AM

Mahomes' 3rd down stats might be related to how many times it was 3rd and long - whether from dumb 2nd down play-calling or stupid penalties.

tatorhog 11-12-2018 09:37 AM

Kind of had the feel of a preseason game where you don't tip your hat with the plays you've designed for week 1.
