Fell twice last Thursday. Didn't break anything after going to the doc yesterday, but my leg and knee are bruised to hell. We'll see what the PT says tomorrow.

Hang in there, bud... mind over matter

Buehler445 12-17-2019 08:45 PM

Best wishes man.

I don’t even comprehend what you’re going through.

I apologise for not remembering what happened to get you here, but I too have chronic pain. Mine is in my back, hips, and have nearly constant sciatic pain.

I oftentimes take a HOT bath before my stretches and follow up with ice. I used to use a heating pad beforehand but the wet heat seems to loosen things up more. The pain afterwards is definitely less than with the pad but YMMV.

Best of luck brother.

My chronic issues are much more minor (bulging discs, stenosis, and arthritis in two joints of my spine)

But, cold then heat, TENS units, and CBD (both a topical cream and a liquid tincture) is how I survive anymore. I've been doing dry needling and stretches at physical therapy that have helped too.

I'm unsure if any of this is helpful. Stay strong, brother!

To be fair, pain is subjective. The "tiny bulge" at my L1 is substantially more painful than the herniations at C5-6 and T5-6 but doesn't touch my L3-S1.

I also like CBD. I was on pain pills for 2.5 years (took my last one on Friday! Tapered for 4 months) and started transitioning to MMJ back in September. I do lower THC strains with high CBD to make butter. It seems to work more than the pills did for me

Good point.

Part of the frustration is getting re-diagnosed/getting conflicting diagnosis every time I see a new specialist. My doctor insists my disc is herniated and that I have scoliosis, while my specialist flatly disagrees and says I have bulging discs, no scoliosis, and arthritis. At this point, I feel pretty jaded toward western medicine and instead am looking at alternative forms of management. Getting prescribed oxy at 18 also did a number on my overall trust of the establishment. It’s only gotten worse with age, the side effects steroids and gabapentin had on my mental health were far worse than the chronic pain I’ve learned to put up with daily

I’m with you. CBD and the greens + alt forms of management have done far more for me than anything I ever got prescribed. That’s not to dismiss all in the medical profession, three specialists in and I’ve finally landed on a specialist I like quite a lot - and he got me the referral I needed so my insurance would work with a more alternative physical therapy center.

Godspeed FMB. I’ve done a bit PT over the years for various injuries and like nearly everything else in life have found that you get out what you put in. Hang in there through the valleys, man.
