Anything less than a Superbowl victory will be disappointing. Will that mean we should blow things up if it doesn't happen? Of course not. But with the talent we have and Mahomes and things clicking, this is a year we have a chance. And every time that we have one of those years and it doesn't happen it's disappointing.

I actually don't know where I am with this. Part of me would be stoked just with a Super Bowl appearance, but then I think of how I agonized for a year over losing Game 7 of the World Series (part of me wondered if it would be less painful if we got swept in 4).

The next year made it all worth it.

But with the Chiefs? I don't know. The Chiefs have made me feel pain at a level that no team has ever come close to. Just one title in the Mahomes era - that's all I ask.

Disappointing, yes - but not a disaster.

Anything less than an AFC Championship, OTOH, is pretty bad. It's a step back when we should be moving forward. It's not quite "Super Bowl (appearance) or Bust!" but it's pretty damn close.

This squad has everything it needs to win the AFC. Super Bowls are so weird w/ the time off and the media attention that they seem awfully coin-flippy in my mind, so I can't 'expect' a SB title, but I can damn sure expect an appearance.
