Count me in as one who NEVER even cared....

It's like yuppies trying to live the MTV life..then they had to go and put on "Big Brother" and I had to laugh when it failed miserably.

The show may gag you, but there is something interesting in the amazing popularity. Some voyueristic (sp) tendency of our new wave society is being addressed by Survivor and Big Brother. The rules are set up to pit one against the others, and the audience eats it up. They get to watch true pain, deception, backstabbing, and tears. Like peeping thru the window at a dysfunctional family as they hurt each other. Why are we drawn to this spectacle of artificially induced but real human suffering? Most are repulsed by it, but many, many folks eat it up like candy. The shows popularity says something about us in general, but I'm not yet sure what that is.

Uck... 'reality' shows. What a farce! OK, stick 10-15 totally different individuals into a confined area - force them to interact on a constant basis, where competition, i.e. the quest to win $1mil or whatever, forces them to single each other out for expulsion. Yeah, that sounds like my life all right! 'Reality' based my *** !

The Real Whiners, errr World™ was enough to make me HATE, not dislike, not grudgingly accept, but HATE MTV. Now the 'big three' (CBS, ABC, NBC) want to copy from MTV's template? Bleccchhh... makes me ill. I wonder how long it'll take before FOX comes out with their own 'extreme reality based' show.

I never watched it until the last 10 minutes last night. I can't believe they voted for the sissy.

I once watched about 4 minutes of COPS before I became too depressed to continue.

I haven't watched any of it. I heard that Jimmy Raye was about to be voted ON the island... all by himself!

I hated reality TV when Cops and America's Most Wanted came out. I have not watched a single video episodic show since.....

Okay, if you want reality TV, give me either something like the Running Man or a game show where you bet body parts against dollars.....
