Chiefs | To meet Eric Winston later this week
Tue, 13 Mar 2012 17:35:44 -0700 Updating a previous report, the Kansas City Chiefs are expected to meet with free-agent OT Eric Winston (Texans) later this week. Specifics are not yet confirmed, but it's in the works. -------------- I wonder why we would want to meet with him "later this week". That just screams us being a fallback option. |
The Chiefs seem to be suffering from The Royals syndrome. They just WON'T spend any money. They are losing their fans.

Pioli has thought about calling the agent for every major FA on the market. Somebody left a gum wrapper on his desk and he just can't get near the phone.

I know everyone on CP is pissed about FA, but who has been signed elsewhere that you wish we could have gotten?

Several new updates....

Do you really believe the Chiefs have a chance to sign Tolbert?
|
Marcus McNeil anyone?

Meanwhile, a FA period for us that includes Routt, Hillis, Boss, Winston, and Schwartz would be huge for us, regardless of space we have left. Winston and Routt will not count against the compensation picks we might get for Carr, Orton, McClain, and any others because they were cut prior to our signing. |
LOL Cotchery? That's terrible. Manningham is way better than that old man. I mean come on.

I haven't seen this anywhere...if it's already posted I'll delete
SATURDAY NFL Network is reporting right tackle Eric Winston is still in Kansas City, which may be an indication the Chiefs have a good chance of signing him.\\ This would be good |

So has Stanzi turned into Bigfoot or something? I don't understand why he isn't even mentioned when Pioli was talking about the quarterbacks he talked about Castle and Brady and no Stanzi what the ****?

Crennel said he started seeing improvement last season and believes Houston has the potential to be a very good player.
Chiefs | Will take best available athletes in NFL Draft Wed, 28 Mar 2012 12:06:54 -0700 Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said he likes his current roster, and as a result will look to take the best available athletes in the NFL Draft rather than draft based on need. "We've put ourselves in position, with the needs we filled, that when we go into the draft, we can look at the best athlete available and the guy we think can help our team the most," Crennel said. "We won't have to draft for need. That gives us many more options."Chiefs | Bigger roles for Amon Gordon, Jerrell Powe? Tue, 27 Mar 2012 17:21:28 -0700 The Kansas City Chiefs have looked on the open market for help at nose tackle, and might attempt to re-sign free-agent DL Kelly Gregg (Chiefs), who started in 2011. They have DLs Amon Gordon and Jerrell Powe returning from last season's roster. "I'm not ruling Kelly out. I think he would like to come back and play. I think he likes the situation. He understands how we coach. He know what defense we're doing to run," Crennel said. "I think if he has the opportunity he would not be opposed to coming back."
Chiefs | Dan Skuta visits Tue, 27 Mar 2012 17:20:10 -0700 Free-agent LB Dan Skuta (Bengals) visited with the Kansas City Chiefs, per a league source.
|

The latest KFFL news has been posted. Nothing spectacular. Is anyone really excited about Tannehill? I'm not. I hope we trade down.
|
Great to hear the JC is running hard.
|
Uh oh! It's Poe! Poe haters unite!
|
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOT POE!
|
A lot of talk about Tannehill. Now Poe.
Yep. The smoke machine is in full effect. |
I would rather poke myself in the eye with a spoon than draft Poe, or trade up for Tannehill.
|
Say NO to Poe! If not Poe, then who? Is there another NT worthy of #11? I'm almost always an advocate of trading down.

I absolutely love Chandler Jones. Great motor, long arms, outstanding pedigree. However not at 11. If you can trade down to get him and pick up another 2nd then I'm all for it.
|
DeCastro.

I just don't think Poe is a Pioli pick
While Pioli will reach for need he's not a workout warrior type guy imo. Kuechly seems like a Pioli pick imo |
Id love to hear Romeos real thoughts on this kid.
|
Quote:
I heard a bit of the interview Kuechly gave Tim and Pat on Movin the Chains. Sounds like a very bright kid, and some of the numbers they rambled off on him were impressive. Not a ton of sacks or INT's, but a ton of stops behind the line to go with a fair amount of pass breakups. I can see us drafting him. |
if we are going to draft a d-lineman I'd rather just take Devon Still
dude can be the heir to Dorsey at least |

This draft, in regards to Decastro, really depends on what they wanna do with Hudson. If they are gonna put him at C, fine take Decastro. If you are gonna keep him at G, wait and take a C a little later in the draft.
If thats the case, with who all is available at our 11 pick, I could try and get on board with Poe. If Romeo thinks he can turn him into Wilfork, hell yeah take the guy. |
Quote:
|
Yeah, you essentially want a G who can play C as well just in case.
I think Decastro worked a little at C in a pro day, so he could likely do it if he absolutely had to, but wouldn't want to try and move him there. Same reason I don't really want to move Hudson to C, as he was a great G in college. But I guess thats what he was drafted for so who know. |

Are you open to trimming some of that down? Say always keep the 5-10 most recent posts. Anything before that? Gone. |
Lastest updates...... good news, bad news.....

Seriously. **** our useless GM if he drafts one of them at 11.
|
Just because TJ restructures his contract means we are drafting a DE?
|
Neither of those guys fit the scheme we run. Like DJ said, if we are moving to a 1 gap style with some 4 man fronts, sure. But we likely aren't .
|
Per KFFL, the Chiefs might possibly draft someone to play football for them as early as Thursday.
